Duplicate Meta Descriptions
Hi,
I use the Yoast SEO plugin and enabled the 'remove categories prefix' option to change the category archive URLs from/category/category-name/ to just /category-name/ as I believe short URLs rank better and are also more user-friendly.
However, after the change I'm getting duplicate meta description errors in Google Search console in the HTML Improvements section.
Yoast appears to automatically set a redirect from the old URLs to the new one and also adds rel canonical to the new URL.
So I'm not sure what else can be done to resolve this. Do I just need to wait for google to crawl the archives and update this?. Any advice appreciated.
