Any tips to speed up website?

I have already tried the following things to speed up my personal website.

Choose a good hosting provider
I have already installed caching plugin
I have disabled Inactive Plugins
Compressed Media Files
Minify JavaScript and CSS Files

Doing all these things still I am facing speed issues and I don't know whether I change my hosting provider or still I have to do some changes in my website to speed up. I have discussed this with my friend he suggested me to change the hosting provider and recommend me these hosting providers

WooCommerce hosting

Anyone tell me about these hosting providers whether they experience their services? Also, changing the hosting provider will resolve my issue or there is something easy that I can do because changing the hosting provider is a big issue for me.

Hey there, you may not need to change hosting if you have done the points you state above. Have you tried installing CDN (content delivery network) on your site? I use Cloudflare and it works like a charm.

Some ideas for you Alex that will definitely work, as they worked for me:

    - go with a VPS aka Virtual Private Server
    - use a CDN
    - cut down on image usage and video embeds and ad embeds (more links, less pictures)

My blog is pretty quick these days following those simple tips.

    I'm assuming you're running Wordpress?

What kind of hosting do you have? Shared? Vps? Dedicated?

Have you contacted your web host about the speed?

I also ran into the similar issue when developing a website for one of my clients, did everything you mentioned above but to no avail....i discovered that some word press themes tend to load slow, especially if you got a nulled theme without purchasing it, this nulled themes sometimes come embedded with some malicious scripts that are responsible for slowing down websites. I later tried another theme which was paid and i had a better load time.

I also looked into the scripts and done all the necessary things that can speed up my website but still have speed issues.
      {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11397289].message }}
  • I've same issue days back. And here some info may help you with your problems :

    1. Image size -always compress them before uploading.
    2. Css - dont use unnecessary css, compile them in one css, minify does this, but manually doing it before minified css, it will give the best result.
    3. Check your .js file, is it efficient enough? Sometimes .js files is the culprit.
    4. Avoid content load from other website, like plugin that'll load content from their website (ex : facebook fp).
    4. Use CDN services. I recommend cloudflare.

If problem still exist, i would suggest you using a VPS services. I think it's your hosting services issues.
