Hi everybody,

I am new to this forum and just wanted to use this to say hello and talk a little about me. I am active in the vegan niche, love to cook plant-based treats for friends and family and I am writing on a vegan cookbook. I need to learn how to market my book once I am done and I hope to learn from you guys strategies and ways to do that successfully.

I look forward to your support and hope to build mutual beneficial long-term relations with you guys around here.

      I am looking for a publisher now and I am confident the book will be done by the end of September - not sure how long it will take the publisher to bring it on the market. But I want to create a buzz around it so as many people as possible will be interested to buy it - what do you think will be the best strategy for that?

        You seem very confident that your book will be picked-up by a publisher and brought to the marketplace.

        I suggest you look into self-publishing your book. Unless your work is exceptional, there is only a very small chance of going the traditional publishing route.

            Google is your friend. There are tens of thousands of resources on this topic

            If a publisher picks up your book, you won't need to worry about that. They have a marketing department for that.

            I'm sure that there are many folks here that can help you with the self-publishing marketing strategies, but it's not something that I have any personal experience with. Sorry.

    Not a vegan myself, but I wish you luck with your vegan cookbook. I've heard that a lot that Filipino cuisine tends to lean more on the meaty side. I'm both curious and excited about your vegan recipes for them.

    Having your own website and putting the book on Amazon can help. Also, it'd be a good idea to have a presence on social media. Doesn't have to be your personal profile. You can have a page for your author persona and promote there. And don't be afraid of hiring an extra pair of hands if you really need help marketing your book.

    Do you currently have an audience? That's the best place to start. Build your own audience with a blog, a Facebook group, and a mailing list.

    If not, it's going to be a lot tougher. You can self-publish a Kindle book at a low cost. Research other Vegan cookbooks and see what type of cover and description they use. Don't copy, but use a similar strategy as the books that are selling well. Don't use a cheap cover.

    Read the reviews of other Vegan cookbooks. What did buyers like? What did they dislike? What did they want to understand better or see more of in the book?

    You might want to offer your book for free for a set amount of time. See if their are Vegan Facebook groups that will allow you to promote. Some well, some won't, so read their rules first! Getting those first few reviews are important.

    You may want to run ads on Amazon or Facebook but do some research first.

    Finding a publisher is going to be tough. Especially for an unknown without a large, established audience.

    I would focus on learning the ins and outs of self-publishing. You can use the search function in this forum to read past threads about this topic.

        You need a lot of patience if you want to pursue your digital business. It takes a lot of time and dedication. If you get easily tired after a week or a month or a year, then this business isn't for you.

        Make good use of your time. Outsource what needs to be outsourced. Talk with potential clients. Do email marketing or cold calls. Just don't forget to remain focused on the end goal.

        Welcome to you and you will most-likely find a good online selling plan by evaluating what you most love to do. Finding a way to produce and market services or products, or both, related to that will be your ticket.

I literally just turned vegan and as a fresh vegan I spend a ton of time watching influencers like Letscookvegan or Boss.tv and save their most appealing vegan dishes. I highly recommend you build a social media channel like Instagram and offering your book in your profile.

    If you are passionate about veganism it won't be hard to build a network on Instagram. Just the hash tag #plantbasedfood gets hundreds of viewers on Instastories so imagine showing pictures or video snippets of your food there and telling people to check out the link in your bio for more similar recipes!

    Veganism is about to turn into a $28 Billion dollar industry and with tons of fresh vegans needing help with their cooking, you're already 10 steps ahead with your book, so monetizing a book on say Instagram will be smart provided you are willing to put in the work there.

    There are a lot of great suggestions, so maybe this is just a personal opinion to add to the mix.

    Put it on Amazon in both an ebook and paperback form. You can run ads on your KDP account, which can help.

    I would also start some type of blog or YouTube channel to help with traffic and sales. If you enjoy the vegan topic than simply talk about your experience and offer your book.

    I would look at your branding yourself like Rich Roll, his books & brand are a huge success in your community. His podcast is massive & he has a huge social media influence with an email/affiliate list etc.
