Squeeze Page-behind the scene

Does a Squeeze Page need a domain name or URL? Or, is it something that defaults directly to one's Auto-Responder? Any reply that addresses my question would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Some of the Auto-Responders provide Squeeze Page Builder for building Squeeze Page within their domain, and the customer typed email address will be added to your Email List within the Auto-Responder.

But, buying a domain name helps you build your own brand, and makes your website consistent with your product.

I'm a bit confused as to what defaults directly to one's autoresponder means.. Do you mean from a FB page or something?

I would say it depends on what the squeeze page is for. If You're trying to build up a brand I would go with a website and build your squeeze pages off of that. I know many people that purchase a very broad domain name such as qualityproducts.com (just an example, never actually visited that site) and then build pages for each of their squeeze pages to be parked at. IE: qualityproducts.com/blender-offer.

Anyway, hope this helps even just a little.

Normally it's better to have your own domain and hosting.
