Importance of "Time" in Rankings

This is my first post here.
I have been a bloggger for 10 years. I learnt a few things through Google and self-study about SEO.
I also made a little fortune of $10,000 in these years.
But the income is not enough to sustain my daily needs.
Recently in 2018, I found that, most of the search results in Google are showing from 2016 and little later years.
Also once you write an article, it takes "time" to get ranked in the first page search results.
I see that only 1 or 2 links of atleast 3 months before in the top 10 list.
Earlier it was not that case. I researched articles related to SEO, Microsoft and Health niche.
Do you think "time" has an influence on your rankings?
