What I Wish I Knew Before I Started This

I've been doing AFM for about a year now and am finally getting the hang of it. I just thought I'd share some things I've learned from my time in this business.

1. Expect not to be paid for all of your sales. This is especially true if you're doing CPA marketing. Furthermore, expect that many merchants/vendors will not respond to you when you send them emails asking why you weren't paid for a particular sale.

2. This isn't for people that are lazy and it's not get rich quick easy money bs. You need to work and work hard if you want to be successful in this business

3. If there's a dispute between you and a vendor expect the marketing network to almost always take the merchant's side. It boils down to economics. Affiliates are easily replaceable. Vendors not so much.

4. Most of the affiliate marketing gurus out there don't make as much money as they want to lead you to believe.

#1 on your list happens far more often than people think. It's one of the main reasons we moved away from affiliate marketing and moved to a more traditional eCommerce dropshipping model.

#2 all the way. Plus the more you do #2, #1 won't matter because money keeps flowing in and you've no time to even focus on loss. More and more gain.

#2 is true. But I don't regret about not knowing this at first. Every business is long-term. If this is what you want to do in your life, then you'll be doing it for the rest of your life, so if you'll spend few years doing this, you'll achieve good results.

In over ten years as an affiliate marketer, the only sales I never got paid for was when the guy from "Human Rewriter" took the money and ran.

You have to pick vendors carefully. Most people look at commission percentage or income per sale, but the people they are trusting with their money don't get much interest.

All are very true and valid points.

Most are very "glass is half empty", do you have any positive learnings as well? I'm sure you do?

So true. this is why I only work with well know affiliate marketers. I stick to only 2 Michael Cheney and Omar Martin. Both honest people I have never had any problems with. I do promote 90% of the time only products from Omar and Michael. Never had a problem I also receive 100% commissions from being a member in 7 Figure Franchise and also Automated Commissions Enterprise. You are also promoting great selling products that people want. The difference is that if you do your research and stick with people that are willing to help you and give you all the training you need. You will make money as a affiliate marketer. Invest in your business and it will work.
