Hi guys

First time here so go easy on me.

I am looking to start (slowly) building my own websites based pon local keywords and rank them on google maps and sell them on to business's.

There is plenty of info out there on youtube etc, but what I am struggling to understand is how you get past the business address issue, as you dont have an actual business yet and afre just building ot with the idea of selling it on, also even putting a phone number would be an issue if it starts ringing and people want me to goand do plumbing jobs !!!

Any help would be greatly appeciated

You are not going to get on Google Maps with a local listing if you do not have a physical address in that locality. Google almost always sends a post card to the address with a code on it that you need to verify. If you don't have a physical address for them to send a postcard to, how are you going to verify the business actually exists at that location?

Really, this makes sense. The purpose of Google Maps is to give searchers a map of places that they can drive/walk to and do business with. If they can't do that, why do you want to be on the map in the first place?

You might get away with that but I guess I do not see the point. People who are using Google Maps are doing so because they want to drive/bike/walk to a place they are wishing to do business with. What do you think they will feel when they arrive at nothing but a mailbox?

lol I had this problem. Rented a mailbox at the local UPS Store. Got my verification postcard. The UPS store was showing up on Google Maps as my business. Don't know what the hell I was expecting. Shit for brains!!! lol

Actually, I did know that would happen, but I thought I'd find a work-around. :-)

There is a very well known course out there regarding google maps, I havent paid for it as I am unsure on it, but they claim to run hundreds of google maps sites without the need for a physical address in that area, they then sell these sites on to business's in that area

    Hi,

This is very common a business should have physical location. As you said you don't have any but you want to rank locally and want to get business.

You can go with Local SEO in which you can target location based keyword and there is no need to add address over there. For example you are dealing in Plumbing services and you can add complete keyword like. Plumbing services + Location.

It will help you to get local business calls.

    Thanks

Wouldn't it be easier just selling the service to local business owners and ranking them on their behalf? You get paid to get them/keep them there and you ultimately get the same result, without all of this extra work.
