Hey guys, I am getting into Affiliate Marketing. I am building a site for this and next step is to build an opt-in page, a bridge and connect an autoresponder. First the autoresponder, which is "easier" for a newbie to setup aweber or get response?

  • Try both. They both have a trial I believe.
  • i prefer Mailchimp, they have a free version

    • Many people here have said that MailChimp does not allow their list service to be used for affiliate marketing. Please advise.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • They are, but they don't allow affiliate offers.

Both aweber and getresponse are great, either will work (IMO).
  • What are your primary objectives and goals for your business? All Email Service providers have different features, benefits, & challenges. Aweber and/or Get Response are solid as well as Sendlane. If your goal is "easier/simplicity" Aweber and Sendlane are quite simple to use.
  • I use both Aweber and Getresponse.

One isn't simpler than the other.

You just have to learn the steps for whichever one you choose, which is pretty much the same amount of work.
  • I think sendlane its also a good option
  • I was a complete newbie to Email Marketing and Auto Responders but I signed up with Get Response and they have provided free email marketing training as well as excellent customer service representatives that take the time to assist you.
  • I am using Aweber, it is quite easy, user friendly and the most important, reliable.
  • Myself I use Aweber But it is up to. you. many like aweber. other like get response. You have so many. youtube videos that will give you help..
  • Mailchimp shut my free account down after ten days. I was testing it too hard, sending emails to myself and my other emails (changed the dot position in my gmail address). They have software called "Omnivore" which detects "suspicious" behaviour.
I appealed to mailchimp, but after a week, no reply, account still suspended. This is good! Saves me having real problems once I get a real list. Mailchimp's TOS does say no affiliate marketing.

My advice - don't build your business on a platform which may freeze on you.
Remember - a chimp can be a cute, fun animal. But it can also go feral, and kill the owner.

  • I've used both Aweber and Get Response for 5 years now. There will be a bit of a learning curve for those completely new, but they are quite easy to use and maintain. One word of caution for newbies is to watch your Complaints/Spam rate very closely. It's the #1 reason accounts get shutdown. This goes for all good ARs.
