Not sure if this is the right place to introduce myself but I'm new to this forum and this is my first post.

I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know why I joined.

I've been seeing many posts popup on my Facebook newsfeed about how people can become millionaires online selling things on websites.

I assume this is e-commerce like selling on Amazon and so on?

So this is what I wanted to learn about.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Liam Wright

    Welcome!

There is a dedicated section to e-commerce here. And the rest of the forum has thousands of posts about selling things like ebooks, services, and more from websites.

Your best bet to get started is to do a lot of reading. As you read, figure out what sounds like something you want to try. Then get started. Put up a site. Write the book. Whatever it is you want to do.

Then as you gain experience, run into obstacles, etc. come back and ask questions. There are tons of friendly people willing to help. Just be aware that some are more interested in selling their stuff from their website vs. helping out of the goodness of their heart. So, learn but be cautious at the same time.

And make sure you read, understand, and follow the forum rules.

    Welcome Liam,

Find a niche you feel passionate about. Tie your passion to solving a problem. Research via Warrior, Google and blogs in your niche.

Millions do flow to bloggers who spend a good 356 days a year doing really smart, generous stuff, year after year. But every new IMer like yourself is a good 5-10 years of smart, effective, generous work away from reaching such lofty status.

Just focus on having fun, learning from pros, being patient and sticking to the basics. All success flows from simple actions taken daily for many years.

Hey, Why did you join WF?

Confused? Overwhelmed? Not Sure What To Do?

People come into the Warrior Forum every single day and they need help.

I remember when I first joined WF how confused I was on a daily basis.

I spent more time wondering what I should be doing over actually getting any work done.

      Sound familiar?

I'm confident this will help you.

The rich don't just want to be "rich." They have specific goals they're working towards, whether that's a certain net worth, an exact annual income or having enough money to take a luxury vacation, buy a sports car or do something else. You need to know what success means to you if you're going to achieve it.

When you say money you say goal. You say i have a goal. You say i have a Target.

"Millionaires," huh. Just by selling things online?

One in a million does, I suppose.

Liam, don't be taken in by the marketing. It is not easy and it is not instant. This is a skillset and a daily grind, just like any job. For some people it is freedom and they make a few thousand dollars or pounds a month.

BTW anything promising you tons of money, that you'll make sales, is probably being marketed illegally. Take everything, absolutely everything, with several grains of salt.

Selling online is in a general way no different from selling door to door, or selling through the newspaper, or selling on TV. You still need Traffic: people to see your offer. And you still need Conversion: the means by which you turn some of that traffic into buyers.

There's no magic and there's no "easy button."

People will often market their program or software or whatever as "THE COMPLETE SOLUTION" when in fact it is only a small part of Traffic or a small part of Conversion. Perhaps with a lemon twist, which is what makes their marketing work...an interesting feature or way they do the thing. Don't be taken in by the loud, brash marketing speak of Internet Marketing: most of it is lies.

Like any job, there are skills to learn and apply. You have to "get good" at IM and that takes commitment. Most people don't last longer than three days. I have seen this over and over and if you look through the forum posts you'll see people who have been here three, five, ten years or more and accomplished nothing. Why? They didn't learn anything. They bought a shiny object...tried working with it for three days until it seemed impossible to succeed and the energy ran out (because their energy was based on the shiny object, not themselves)...and then they dropped the project and waited until next month and the next bit of money from a relative or friend or day job that allowed them to purchase the next goodie from the Shiny Object Train.

    There's no magic bullet.

You have to stick with something, learn it, build the skill.

One thing is not better than another...drop shipping is not better than ecommerce is not better than an agency (the darling of the moment; it'll pass.)

Pick something and stick with it.

Learn how to drive traffic and convert it into sales. That's the essence of any business, whether it's your local grocery store or an ecommerce site centered around hiking gear. Human nature doesn't change...just the platforms do. Oh and most of the people (struggling) on this forum don't even understand what I just said. Don't understand the nature of the problem. They think success comes from the shiny object.

Set up a youtube account ,set up a blog and start sharing valuable content.By the way you are not the only one that wants to make a profit. You will not make a dime unless you have a solution to a problem .Too many people get into the industry to make money which I understand. Instead you should seek out to be a more customer centric sales person mixed that in with empathy you have a winning formula. Remember that value is key.

  • Basically you can earn an income by selling physical products or info products online, it all depends on what is your passion. Also, you need to choose the niche you are interested in to get started. Learn and take action, focus in one thing at a time before moving to others.

With IM there is a lot of BS about easy money.

Marketers will often make exagerated claims about how easy it is to make big bucks online. If it was that easy they would keep the secret to themselves and only consider sharing it with close friends.

You need to keep your feet on the ground and every time you see an opportunity ask yourself the age old question "Is this too good to be true?" if your answer is yes then run a mile. If the opportunity involves some hard work, effort, creativity, thought, then you have probably found a viable way of making money online.

    Here's Some Real Advice

    Hi Liam,

First, WELCOME to the forum and to the online business world!

Making money online is a great business model, at least for me. I have owned several brick and mortar business and have achieved respectable success and the lifestyle that goes with it. However, it's the online business that I find most appealing.

If you are here just for money, then you will likely waste a lot of time and money only to end up in disappointment. Making money online is a business and requires the same commitment and energy as any other business.

If you are excited about starting a business, and the online model appeals to you, then you are in the right place. Beware, though, of people who are just trying to sell you training, or to send you to a sales page, or some other form of their self-fulfillment. Those techniques don't work, and the people who do that will continue to struggle. There are plenty of people on here who are real and are willing to help, unfortunately, most are not.

The good news is that starting an online business is quite cost-effective, meaning it is inexpensive to get started, and some things can be done with no financial outlay.

The challenge is figuring out what aspect of IM (Internet marketing) you want to do. It is very easy to get lost in a sea of opportunity, and if you don't grab hold of something, you will drown.

The IM field is wide and vast. Similar to choosing to become a lawyer, there are lots of areas of law from which to choose. For example, some folks in law school may choose to become a real estate lawyer, which is far different from criminal law. There are so many areas of law: divorce, immigration, personal injury, medical malpractice, just to name but a few. Internet marketing is just as wide, and you need to decide what you like best. While you can make changes, success comes from being laser focused. Perhaps that is why most in this business fail.

To help you choose, you may want to take stock of yourself. Make a list of topics (niches) where you have expertise, experience or even just an interest. Take note of the time you have, money you have to invest, and the skills you possess. These answers will help you find your place in IM.

I've seen why people succeed or fail from my time as a business management consultant and coach.

I hope this helps you and anyone just getting started who may be reading this.

Read this post and you'll get a good idea for the rules but hanging around and participating is the only way to really understand how the place works.

There aren't definitive guides, per se, about affiliate marketing but there are thousands of posts. Just start in the Beginner's area learning all you can but more importantly, you need to be practicing what you are learning. You need to actually set up a site and an email sequence and try your hand at driving traffic or do whatever else it is you are learning about.

As you practice what you are learning, feel free to come back and ask questions. However, before you do ask questions do some research on your own first. The mods delete a lot of posts where the answer would be common sense or found with a short forum search. Be responsible and treat this like a business instead of waiting for everything to be handed to you.

      Welcome, Brandon.

First off, you need to learn how the forum software works. You are on the verge of a temporary ban because you keep posting this same thing over and over and over. Don't do that. You should get a PM or an email saying why your new threads are not being approved - it's because your post is already here and live.

Second, be very wary of many of the coaches here. Many will promise the moon and stab you in the back for whatever you pay them and then just move on to the next victim.

There are good people here that have been successful. It would be impossible to make a list but as you read the forum you'll find out who walks the walk.

Ignore any PMs you get from people offering you a special deal or anything like that. Learn in public. Practice what you learn. Set up a site. Install a squeeze page, etc. That's the only way to really learn. Like building houses, until you've swung a hammer, you really don't know how to swing a hammer effectively. Got to put things into action.

      Good luck with your goals.

My name is ishaq (or Zack for ease of pronunciation) Joined the forum now after reading some decent content.

I have spent the last year learning as much as I can about SEO, online businesses etc. Currently I have two etsy shops on the go. I have no started two blogs in niches, I am hoping to get enough content on them both to bring in organic traffic, at which point I can sell advertising space on my sites.

I am enjoying it totally, and since I had to change my career path due to ill health I do find myself falling in love more and more with working from home, and working with content and affiliate marketing.

I certainly hope to become a contributing member,

Any articles or methods you would recommend to help perfect SEO for niche sites?

The quicker you learn to see through all the B.S, the better for you.

Don't fall into the "make X amount in minutes!" stuff.

Is it possible? Yes, absolutely. In fact, many many methods actually DO work...but you'll have to have a mechanism set in place, and it'll take you some time to figure out what that mechanism is and how to excecute.

    Welcome!

  • A lot of my friends are always asking me to teach them how I make money online and what I recommend to my friends who are newbies is to get paid for clicking on ads. Its not huge money but you can make $25-$30 per hr with the right ones.

    Hi guys

    I am new here.

Although this is my 2nd post. My first post is not visible for some reason.

I dont really think I violated any rules, unless asking for input on services of popular online marketing/dropship coaching firms is.

But regardless, I want to thank you guys for this wonderful platform to learn from.

      Welcome to the Warrior Forum.

Forum doesn't offer review/purchase advice - you can use search to see if there is a review posted in that particular section.

        Thank you, Kay.

Actually I got a email from the moderator saying

"Do a forum and/or Google search. New members need more of a history of participation before asking for reviews."

May be they are trying to avoid fake publicity related review posts.

But that does create a dilema for me. Cause my primary goal here was to see if anyone had experience with this coach's services.

The existing reviews for the coach are old and they have launched 2 new services costing a some real real real $$$$, so wanted to get an opinion on the veterans here.

    What's up Warriors!!

Super pumped up to be here and add value where I can.

I've been in the digital marketing/web design space for about 15 years. I really hate the term web design now.

My most recent journey has taken me on the path of building sales funnels. I'm not sure I'll ever have a typical website again. Just seems so 2001 to me.

Anyways, I'm a very passionate, super motivated individual and I'm hoping I can help others get to the level they strive for.

    Let's GOOO!!

Hi all, this is where it all starts, with an introduction.
Ian is my real name and I am happy to help anyone.

I have for 17+ years now been a sales trainer and business developer based
    in the UK.

I have trained sales teams and increased the turn over for every business I have worked in or helped with just 5 little steps.

Really easy to use and fast to learn. They can be applied to online and offline areas including face to face, telephone calls, sales letters and emails.

I will include a picture when I can as they all need resizing. Would like you to know who you are talking to :-)

I have 4 words for anyone wanting to make money online ... Build an Email List.

If you have a list, you can generate traffic to an offer on demand at little cost.

Just make sure that whatever the niche that the list will be related to is monetizable.

I have spoken to so many beginner marketers that built lists around topics that they couldn't easily monetized and struggle to make any money.

So if someone says you need to follow your passion or the money is in the list, not 100% true!

New here too though I've been marketing on the internet for a few years, set up website for my offline business and got it ranked on Google for local keyword searches. Hope to pick up some new skills as well as building my own online products.
