I Want to Start a New Ecommerce Store

Hello. I am the owner of a T-shirt Manufacturing Hub and want to start the online sale. My friend advised me to sell products on amazon and various e-commerce site. But I want to give great exposure to my t-shirts business without paying money to other sites. Basically, other e-commerce sites charge high amount of money on the sale of a product. I want to save that money and spend that money on my business to boost the business reach. If anyone has some idea or tips to start a supreme online store or some digital marketing knowledge then must share their interest.

    I think you should do both. Use Amazon to establish your brand. With success, some people will start searching for your brand directly.

    It takes a considerable amount of time to rank well in search engines and yours is an extremely competitive niche that makes it all the more difficult to rank well. That means paying for ads and I doubt you'll come anywhere close to the 15% Amazon charges for a commission on a sale anywhere else (a $30 T-shirt would cost you $4.50 in Amazon commissions and I doubt you get close to that low in any other form of advertising). Plus, Amazon does the payment processing so that saves you money (about 3% or, in the $30 T-shirt scenario, about $1).

    Well, the ecommerce platforms such as Amazon do take commission % on your sales.

    But I think you're missing the important thing here.

    They take for example 15% of every sale, but they make it very easy for you to make the sale.

    Amazon has been built to sell. It has one of the craziest conversion rates of all ecommerce sites in the world.

    I would pay 15% every day to let someone else do all the super hard parts of selling online for me. (And do it so well at the same time.)

    There's a reason why founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, is the first person to have his net worth surpass $150B.

    You should do both. Amazon charges high commission but they also have high traffic whereas in you new website you don't have that high traffic. Do both just make sure to price products a bit high on website like amazon so you can cover your profit.

    Hello,

    You can do both for your business amazon is also very good option. On the other side, if you go for digital marketing so you have to wait for some times. Because if you want organic results then it will take lots of time and if you want instant result then you should go for paid campaigns. But i will suggest you do both surely you will get result.

    You must choose Amazon the best platform to sell products. Also, you can run some paid campaigns on Facebook and Instagram for a bit time period. This will help you to create your brand awareness in a short time period.
    This way people will get to know about your own website and will reach you directly on your online store.

    Spending a little amount of money with a good strategy can help any brand to increase their sales.

    Owners sell their own products through their own online stores, so there sales are not at the mercy of a third party vendor.



    Your website should be branded for your own, available only here products.


    Your website does not have to show storefront on page one, but should include your own e-commerce store area within site.



    Your website will also need to be hosted on a server that handles multiple transactions, visitors, etc., simultaneously. Most cheap, basic hosting accounts existing on shared servers will quickly exhaust resources and will not perform well, as more people use the site.


    Offering any other "related products" on your site based on items that "you decided to choose and place links for" from vendors such as Amazon can only add to your bottom line.

    As everyone said, having your own site will add value to your brand and attract more interested customers.


    Another advantage is that you'll have your own customer base that you can use afterwards (re-targeting, ads, email marketing...).


    Amazon takes a chunk from what you're making. You can do that or you can use that amount to advertise your business and get more reach.
