Hi guys,

I'm not new to TWF as I was a member years ago but was really struggling to get a consistent income and enough to QMDJ!

I have tried many things in the past such as multi-level marketing, article writing, blogging, ebay etc and although I did make some money with these it was never enough!

I just joined again a couple of days ago and I am already focused on a WSO that I think will get me going in the right direction. I'm just waiting for a PM before I purchase. I have to start somewhere and I'm not just going to sit back and read posts but not take any action.

My problem has never been that I wont try something or wont pay for a product etc, its just been very difficult to get the right one to set me off in the right direction so I can earn a reliable and consistent income.

I hope I'm not babbling on too much but I just feel like I shouldn't have left the WF years ago because had I stuck with it I might be in a very different position than I am now.

I do have a day job that pays well and I'm my own boss but I would definitely rather work from home with a successful online business especially as I'm getting older, (in my early fifties!).

Anyway, I'm back and I'm here to work. Happy to accept any helpful info from you veterans but I also want to give, when I have something to give which isn't now but hopefully soon.

    Traffic...

    ...and Conversion.

Those are the only two things you should be focusing on.

Who are you going to get to come look at your offer, and what tool will you use to turn some of them into buyers?

    That's it.

Don't get distracted by all the bells and whistles.

There is no magic bullet. The map is not the territory: the WSO is just a map. You still have to walk the territory and figure it out for yourself.

No one knows how to do the thing until after they have done the thing.

Thanks Jason. Maybe focused was not the correct word, perhaps "decided", but I am aware of the need for high quality targeted traffic and conversions so I appreciate the reminders.

What did you mean when you said "Who are you going to get to come look at your offer, and what tool will you use to turn some of them into buyers?" as I dont have an offer!

I have just purchased a WSO that I'm now going to implement.

      Regards,

If you don't have something to sell, and a target market, you're not going to make any money.

I dont have anything to sell yet! Im hoping to make some money using a WSO or have I got the wrong end of the stick!

Im not talking about offering products through an email list as I dont have one yet or a website!

As I said, I have to start somewhere. Im hoping to implement the steps outlined in this WSO that I purchased.

If you have to start somewhere, why not concentrate on something you already have an affinity for and can convert into an income stream.

Looking outside yourself to focus on something new may not be the smartest move, right out of the box.

If you're in your 50's, surely you have acquired an inordinate amount of knowledge in at least one thing that can be monetized.

Stop looking at other people's WSO's. Work at something until you can create a WSO of your own

Additionally, I'd think long and hard about giving-up a day job that pays well and you are your own boss. There are many, many people in the IM space that would gladly trade places with you. lol

The grass is NOT always greener.

Thanks optedin. I appreciate your frank reply. I have an affinity for computer repair and Linux but I'm not sure how I could profit from that online other than write a blog about it which I could do I suppose but I lack the skills to properly monetise it and get the right traffic etc.

I just feel I need to learn some skills first, surely thats important. Once I learn how to drive targeted traffic that converts and can create my own WSO that's what Ill do but in the meantime, I'm going to have to learn how to do the necessary things.

What will you learn from the WSO? What is your expectation and what does the investment do for you?

        I see some problems with your thinking, so let me explain, OK? You say;
Once I learn how to drive targeted traffic that converts

And in the previous post that you don't have anything to sell, right?

So who are you driving (traffic) to where (what is the offer)? So, yes, you are looking at the wrong end of the stick. You appear to think that the WSO you bought is going to make you some money, and if that is the case, why not just do it and learn to scale whatever it is up?

Jason gave you the basics. TRAFFIC and conversion.

Let me give you a different perspective.

To make money consistently, you need TRANSACTIONS, which are an exchange of value. What value will you be offering with the WSO? Who is going to make the exchange with you? Where will they come from or how will you find them?

One of the details often left out of many WSOs is the Who and Where. Or in the simplest terms, the TRAFFIC.

OptedIn offered up the idea you start with what you know. Good advice.

The biggest necessary thing to learn is HOW TO THINK FOR YOURSELF. You have to use your unique knowledge, experiences and skills and find a place in the market where they are wanted. You have dabbled, by your own admission, into many areas, and surely you have taken away some valuable lessons from either the failures or the modest successes you've had, right?

Without knowing what the WSO is that you went ahead and jumped into, does it give you the MARKET? The who is going to want it (whatever it is)?

Does it tell you WHERE to find them?

HOW to attract them to the offer?
WHAT to say to them to get them to convert from a looker to a buyer?

I know a guy here in town who has been fixing computers for a couple of decades now, has a thriving business. Has added on other things. And of course, there are no end to the number of MLM successes, I lived a mile or so away from one of the all time legends in MLM (Joe Victor).

The point is, there are people who are doing or have done the things you quit, or don't do and have had great success with them. Why didn't you?

The wrong end of the stick is looking outside of yourself for other people's solutions, but maybe the WSO will give you what you need, and I may be wrong, but, at your age, you have some bad habits to overcome before any of it will work.

I hope you spend TIME and not money on getting into the right mindset to make your goals happen. Good luck.

NEVER put the words 'blog' and 'profit' in the same sentence. That's akin to 'military intelligence.'

about it which I could do I suppose but I lack the skills to properly monetise it and get the right traffic etc.
It was just something to consider. I understand what you are saying,

I just feel I need to learn some skills first, surely thats important. Once I learn how to drive targeted traffic that converts and can create my own WSO that's what Ill do but in the meantime, I'm going to have to learn how to do the necessary things.
"Necessary things," covers a whole lot of territory. Avoid the hamster wheel. Pick one thing and focus.

        Good luck.

Why would you ever look to someone else to recommend your career path?

Here's the best thing I can suggest to you. Take some time to evaluate your past and present to try to find something that YOU BELIEVE IN that will help you to take the first steps to shaping your future.

No one can tell you what to do with your life. You need to think this through. Bottom line - you would actually take someone's suggestion?

Additionally, who would be arrogant enough to tell you want to do with your life? I'm an arrogant little prick, but even I know where to draw the line. :-)

            Get a grip on reality.

Love your energy! My best advice is to keep pumping out content and let your passion shine through. Over a lot of time it can really amount to something huge. Until then, you can always do some affiliate marketing and side projects as well! Much love
