On my website I publish calls for art festivals more than ten years ago. We always publish the participation regulations in each of them. Many of these festivals are repeated annually.
During these years I tried different systems:
1- Make a new publication for each festival: this way each year a new edition of each of the festivals was added. For example: New York Film Festival 2015, New York Film Festival 2016, New York Film Festival 2017, etc.
This had two problems: the site was filled with old content, calls for festivals already closed. And on the other hand the calls were positioned in the search engines, but they took the public to content that no longer served them.
2- I tried a second option, which is to publish EACH festival only once (for example, New York Film Festival) and update the content of that publication each year. But now many people write to me saying that the content is old. It happens that most people do not clean their browser's cache!
3- My third option was to make a new publication of the festival, delete the previous editions and generate a redirection of these publications eliminated to the new one. It's what I'm doing now.
I hope someone can guide me on what would be the best way to handle this. Thank you!
