Publication of events that are repeated every year

On my website I publish calls for art festivals more than ten years ago. We always publish the participation regulations in each of them. Many of these festivals are repeated annually.
During these years I tried different systems:

1- Make a new publication for each festival: this way each year a new edition of each of the festivals was added. For example: New York Film Festival 2015, New York Film Festival 2016, New York Film Festival 2017, etc.
This had two problems: the site was filled with old content, calls for festivals already closed. And on the other hand the calls were positioned in the search engines, but they took the public to content that no longer served them.

2- I tried a second option, which is to publish EACH festival only once (for example, New York Film Festival) and update the content of that publication each year. But now many people write to me saying that the content is old. It happens that most people do not clean their browser's cache!

3- My third option was to make a new publication of the festival, delete the previous editions and generate a redirection of these publications eliminated to the new one. It's what I'm doing now.

I hope someone can guide me on what would be the best way to handle this. Thank you!

This is the Strategy that I follow.. EXCEPT a few differences... #1 its 2019 right now.. most of these have dates going out 2 and 3 and 5 years... I would publish dates and locations when available "Art Festival A 2021" "Art Festival A 2022" etc etc. In regards to dated content.. just go into the page write up some quick it was great.. blah blah blah and have a link to a centeralized page "Art Festival A" that would have links to all of the current and future dates.

As noted above.. keep it fresh but link to the most current and future pages for up to the minute content.

is this "acceptable" I would say so.. Is it something I would do, and the answer is no.. but thats just me. I prefer multiple levels of content. i prefer images of past events.. I am just a basic content freek.. there more the better!

    Hope that Helps!

Thank you very much for your answers savidge4!
It sounds like a logical option to update the contents in the way you propose. My doubt is that in this case, it is not about reviews about the festival itself (if it was successful, if there were many people, etc.), but what we publish are the participation regulations of each festival for each year.
