I Would Like To Introduce Myself

Hello all, Ian is my real name and I am an experienced sales trainer. Using a simple 5 step process I have helped businesses improve their sales and profits.

I am here to learn as much as help people.

All sales start with an introduction. Be it a website, phone call, letter, email face to face, we all have to start with the introduction.

Should be bright, relevant and build curiosity for the customer to want to learn more from you.

If you are face to face then a simple smile and open body language. Same on the phone. If writing, do the same, be cheerful when writing. Something like.....

"How A One Legged Golfer Can Add 100+ Yards To Your Drive In 30 Minutes"

Not too bad for a 10 seconds of writing.

Should you really want to speak to the reader using speech marks, like we did above.

I may know how to make sales, yet I do lack a certain skill set in eyeballs on my site. To build its popularity and help people (as I want to) would a Facebook group be an idea, or is there others that could be recommended?

      Hi there, that would be my goal. To help others improve the sales from their business efforts. In short get more sales out of the visitors to their websites. They could do it directly of the page, or contact them by phone or letter.

    Why do you think you have issues with getting traffic to your website? How do you propose to get traffic to join your facebook group?

    Are you seeing the pattern that is developing?

    So lets flip this around a bit... Your a Sales Trainer. I suspect you do some form of prospecting in order to land the position, no? How is that process any different than obtaining traffic?

    Same function different form

    NOW lets step back to your online issue. YOU have a service and a product to provide. You need to determine your optimal prospect and get in front of them. Notice I am not saying do SEO and this and that and the other. YOU get your best foot forward in front of YOUR ideal client and do what YOU do best.

    So what des that look like? Maybe some well written articles on LinkedIn. Maybe some searches within Social media and look for discussions of the topic you are wanting to target. ENGAGEMENT - IE "simple smile and open body language. Same on the phone. If writing, do the same, be cheerful when writing."

    You simply cant expect the internet to come to you.. YOU must goto the internet.

      The process is different to getting traffic in that what I can help people with is converting people that visit a website into customers. I am not adept at getting people to a website, just making them customers when they do get there.

      In reference to a FB group, I was asking if it would be a good idea to set one up that I could then promote by say being involved in other groups, some FB ads maybe. I am unsure if this would be a good route to go down or would it be better to join groups, help out and use links to my website to get traffic there?

      I realise that I have to go to the internet and my intention was to garner advice on good ways to do just that.

      I appreciate your advice on the articles on LinkedIn and searches on social media. With so much social media out there, may I ask is there any that may be better suited to me prospecting for people to improve their sales skills? I gather LinkedIn may be good as it is mainly b2b, what others are there? Reddit maybe?

    Hi Ian,

    Welcome to the forum.

    Have you tried approaching accountants [insert any business influencer here] for referrals for a percentage of revenue generated?

    Most accountants would have a good list of businesses that struggle with improving sales and revenue and if they are speaking to their client perhaps they can recommend your services.

    Much easier to sell to one accountant who refers others than trying to do it the hard way.
