GZip Compression Aggression!
I recently started with a new business and ran a page speed test using GT Metrix across key landing pages. One of the recommendations was GZip compression.
However, I suspect that GZip compression has already been enabled because when I examine the response headers of the files in Chrome's Inspect->Network some of them have "content-encoding:gzip".
I've tried a few GZip compression testing tools but I can't get a straight answer on whether a particular url is enabled with GZip or not. The dev team I'm working with aren't familiar with GZip and I want to have a firm grip on this before I raise it as an issue (there is a long arduous process for that).
Is there one sure-fire way to check if GZip compression is enabled?
Thanks,
Sam.
