There are many threads about 'what would you have done' etc - but here's the advice you need.

Stop reading and watching and taking notes - and start doing. Build a site - make a plan of action and get started. You can overthing everything - you can overplan and never accomplish anything.

The money you earn online will be a reflection of how many 'buy' buttons you have online. Get started and adjust and learn as you go.

Fail Forward, my friend. The line from beginner to expert is not straight. Your first video will suck. Your first blog entry will suck. Your first website will suck. Accept it. Be humble and listen to constructive criticism. Adjust the course as you go. If you keep reading, watching and taking notes, you'll never actually start.

I'm sure you know people who have become successful who had less skill and knowledge than you. It can be frustrating. They simply started and figured it out as they went. You'll always be farther ahead than the person who is still reading, watching, and taking notes.

I have recently had to become laser focused because I bit off more than I could chew. I discovered a large creative (and confident) portal in my mind and I wanted to do everything at the same time because I was/am so excited and passionate about all of these new ideas! However, in doing so, nothing meaningful will get accomplished because I'll be chasing 8 rabbits and catching none.

I think 5 things are too many to be the "root" of online success...but to go along with your question and try to help, I would say my list would look like:

      1. Get focused
      2. Ask others for help who have done what you want to do...find a mentor
      3. Create a plan/schedule you can stick to...ie. launch website by this date. Finish adsense course by this date. Complete IG marketing course on this date.
      4. Marketing...you don't have to have the best product if you're good at marketing...but it's difficult to sell the best product if the marketing sucks.
      5. Keep doing something - anything to inch you closer to what you want

These are not the technical points you suggested because the technical stuff can be learned by anyone. Knowing what to do with that knowledge and developing a work ethic with a plan is what most people can't figure out. People need to work on themselves more than their craft from what I've experienced.

The name you mentioned...I mentioned him in a post before and it was deleted for endorsing a guru, but yes, I have learned a lot from him and would recommend him to anyone in the IM game.

Keep going! It took me a long time to crack the affiliate code, but once you do it will all be worth it.

  • Don't get overwhelmed. Choose a path that you are passionate with. stay focus by doing one thing at a time and you are one step closer to success. Of course, if you have budget, you can short cut your success by buying ready-made products or tools.

If you don't know how to build a website, outsource it and get it out of the way. Then use the simple practices of affiliate marketing to get commissions. Either go for a high price commission offer ($200 or more).... or promote an affiliate program that offers you a nice recurring monthly income for as long as the customer stays in the program.

are you comfortable in front of the camera? if your answer is yes then I will suggest you start with launch jacking, it is easier then most guru's picture it.

you might be asking but I don't have any expertise or how do I get approved from product owners to become their affiliate or how do you get the review copy to start doing the reviews of the product?

well first commit to yourself that you are going to review/promote at least 2 products each week, then write me back here and I will give you the super guaranteed advice to get approval to promote any product from any vendor.

and keep in mind you will be creating a video and posting it on your youtube channel, yes this is a kind of long term strategy but it will pay off big time.

    what is launch jacking?
Launch Jacking is an online marketing strategy whereby you take advantage of a new product launch to write up a review of that particular item in order to attract online customers.
    this is my 2 cents

Well, what are you creating the website for? I know it's for affiliate marketing but what traffic sources are you interested in? What types of offers are you planning on running? What's your strategy?

    1. Sell what the market wants

It doesn't matter what you want. You need to match your offer to your audience.

    2. Keep things simple

The whole process of selling is relatively simple but not necessarily easy. Get good at one or two skills

    3. Avoid perfectionism

Learn to recognize when "good" is good enough.

    4. Be relentlessly consistent

Don't just write 1 blog post, wait, and then jump to something else when that isn't working.

    5. Model what other successful people are doing

    Funnel hacking 101

Those are a few things off of the top of my head I wish I knew when I started.

    First, the direction:

Are you going to sell other people's products, or are you going to try and get them to sell your products?

    Important distinction.

    Second, the systems:

Every business needs three systems. You need a leadgen system, a qualification system, and a closing system.

    How will you run these?

Clickfunnels is not a leadgen system. Neither is an autoresponder. These are conversion tools...what you use AFTER you've generated a lead. Nothing happens until you bring a lead to them.

    Third, the leads:

The leads need to come from somewhere. This is called a Traffic Source. Have you identified your traffic source(s)? If not, get on it.

Some traffic sources are better than others. Those that have a higher % of people already interested in what you offer are called Pre-Qualified traffic sources. You want to identify and use these.

Get a good pre-qualified lead source set up, feeding the leads into a platform that handles qualification for you, and sends them to a closing tool (the VSL or sales letter of the seller, eg. Clickbank letter page) and you've got a funnel.

What I just explained is beyond where most people playing around on this forum get to, in understanding and execution. Every year I have people who come to me with some product idea...and yet no traffic source in mind for it. How the heck do you think you'll generate sales without it? (They're astonished when I say, "No Thanks.")

I've given you the map. What you do with it now is up to you.

If you expect to make extra income from affiliate marketing, you will need to create quality content. Content is in every piece of communication you use. You will need knowledge of calls to action both informational, as well as transactional, and the ability to write in a broadly readable way.

My answer would be building your website each day, improve it on every single aspect, not massively in one day, but tiny bit each day, consistency will get you far ahead in the long term.

The key is to get ranked on google for the keywords that you are trying to rank for.

The third is build an email list as this is going to be your customer base that you will provide value to and sell products to in the long term.

Fourth is start building your personal brand or website brand, create social medias related to your brand because if your social medias grow, they will become your long term assets. Look at tai lopez, how influential he is on social medias and you don't know how many millions he made just from selling his courses on the web.

Fifth is do not give up and always adapt to the new and latest internet marketing technique(constant learning).

    Six- Dominate

The best advice that I can give you is that you DO NOT need a website for affiliate marketing. You can do it on Instagram very easily and I made my first affiliate commissions this way.

Other than that, just create a sales funnel. Offer some bonuses and drive targeted traffic to your offer.

Once you have this done. You are good to go

It's all about being able to cost-effective drive quality traffic.

What has worked for me and what I've been doing for over 18 years is list building.

You can follow up and promote additional offers for very little cost.

There are programs out there that are awesome and reasonably priced $7.00/month that will help you tremendously. I've been buying programs for a long time; but buying them because of shiny object syndrome. LOL
Then I found out about the program I mentioned above from one of my mentors and love it. There is so much value and you learn by watching everything he does right over his shoulder. Once in the program, you have a chance to join a weekly webinar for free where he builds businesses (funnels) for you to sell and keep all the profits.
Wishing you the best and please let me know if you have any questions.

  • Affiliate Marketing is incredible and such a fulfilling industry to become an online entrepreneur. Most people get involved with Affiliate Marketing and think they can post a few links here and there and make money. It does not work this way. You have to build a following, create good content, build trust, generate email lists, build websites with at least 100 posts and so on.

It is a tough cookie to crack which is why people lose so much money signing up for one shiny object after another, because they don't know which direction to go in, it doesn't have to be hard if you have a good coach, a mentor that will show you the shortcuts to achieving success faster.
