Selling Youtube accounts: are people really making money?

Hey all. New here! Hope to be apart of the online money making discussion. Been on Blackhat awhile as well. Anyway..

I see people selling accounts on sites like playerup pretty often, but in order to sell these off for decent cash, you've got to have 1k subs and 4k hours of watch time.

Okay, cool. 1k subs is affordable, but the 4k watch time?? Everything I'm seeing just to pay someone to get this would cost a least half as much as what these channels are selling for. Plus paying for subs, you're not making much profit; most likely a few bucks after paying middleman fees. What am I missing, ladies and gents? Is this method dead, or are you having success?

This seemed like a great way to make extra cash. I struggle with health issues that keep me from working full time, and just looking for something modest. $50 a day or so. Any suggestions at that, would love to hear.

From your situation, what i would suggest is that get a part time job for the meantime to support your living and build a youtube channel focusing on the niche that you are interested in, and build your audience from there, if you are doing your youtube thing right, you can live fully from your youtube income source in a year if you put in the effort.

Do not sell youtube accounts, build them, people are going to youtube for everything these days, i am a living proof that you can make a lot of money with youtube, i just started this new channel on youtube like december 2018 and i have already made $13,000 from january this year until mid march but the revenue comes from selling (not google adsense) but once your youtube channel grows you will have 3 different income source (paid promotion, google adsense and selling your products or other people product related to your niche)

I hope this tip help you buddy and welcome to the warrior forum

    Welcome Josh,

Why not work on building up your own authority channel that you would keep for the long-term? This way you can build an audience & following, sell your products/services and create a more predictable income.

Honestly, this kind of low level stuff is the part of the forum I dislike intensely.

Why not create an asset, as Evan said, instead of this "get some money quick" maybe-I'll-win-the-lottery idea?

I've never heard of this idea before and that should tell you something. Those Thanks on my profile aren't from interactions in the Off Topic subforum, y'know. Not much difference between this and selling a WF account. Why would you waste your time doing something with such a low, one time payback?

It would be easier and better for you to create a channel leading to free signup affiliate offers, and that would give you an asset that paid off long term.

Part of the problem with this forum is the "Get Rich Quick" mentality, which isn't even "rich", it's more like "Get A Few Bucks Quick" which gets you nowhere. You end up having to do this stupid furious activity and what's the result? A payoff, maybe, that is so small it puts you back at square one as soon as you're done. The process isn't fast enough to be repeatable, and at best all you're doing is wasting your time at a low level creating an asset for someone else. If it's worth anything at all.

Elevate your thinking and spend more time at places like https://thisweekinstartups.com/ instead of Blackhat. There's a great Startup Basics section. Apparently you're going to put in the effort on a project, which is more than you can say for many of the lurkers here...might as well make it legit and on work that will really do something for you.

You're better buy one with 1K subs + 4K watch time in the niche you like and work on it for the next 6 months, and create your own eternal fortune! What do you think?

Selling Youtube accounts or any other video or social media accounts is the beginning of the end for the seller... Sure you can make a few $$$ but sooner then later you will be caught and your IP , account banned forever.

If you want to make money in Youtube , turn yourself an authority in your field of action. From that point you will start to make some money.

For now you think will be a dream to have 1k subs and 4k hours of watching time, but if your content is really awesome you will get that in no time.

People normally try to use workarounds and shortcuts... but in the end all the effort, time and money are lost.

Getting a monitized channel doesn´t cost too much though. You can get views and subscribers drip fed to you, to meet the 4k and 1k requirement. These monetized channels then sell for hundreds of bucks... so the chance to make money is there, and there is a huge demand if you know where to look

Frankly, I've never heard of this but it certainly reminds me of selling sites on Flippa or Ebay for that matter. I don't see anything particularly problematic about it but, as someone has pointed out, you should certainly take a good long look at any 'get rich quick' mindset you might have.

All things considered it seems like your buying a business only it's environment is YouTube rather than the web itself. Still, like with Flippa, you can run into some scammers. Due diligence is needed if you decide to proceed.

I personally don't think this is a good way to make money. It would make more sense to build up your audience and keep promoting to them instead of selling.
