Not converting after 5 months.. Any recommendation?

Hello Warriors,

Last year, I decided to do all what I can to leave the corporation world, I've made a lot of research and watched so many videos, I started to take action on December 2018 on CPA trying to promote offers on different networks but I feel that I'm struggling!

After 5 months of trying different things (Bing Ads, Google Ads) without any results, I would like to start promoting on Facebook ads and I'm wondering if some one can help me by recommending a good (Paid) training that I can buy, maybe it will be the key of getting my first conversion, .

The conclusion I got, is that I'm maybe overloaded by information, doing mistakes when launching my campaigns as I'm a big beginner, couldn't figure out how to create my links with tracking tool like click magic... That's why I think I need a step by step training and go from there.

Thank you guys in advance for your help.

How are you doing it, exactly? Getting ads up and bringing in leads through those platforms is just the first step.

If you were expecting to bring in traffic and send hops over to someone else's conversion page, and that'd make you money...that's not enough. That's just Traffic...you need Conversion as well.

How much traffic have you been sending? Has it been consistent? Do you have a baseline at all to work from?

Or are you shooting in the dark?

Are you capturing those leads you've been paying for, or have you been sending them straight to the offer?

It's impossible to do any kind of diagnosis without understanding your situation.

And it's NORMAL to fail at every step along the way. First you have to learn how to drive pre-qualified traffic from a good source. Then you need to warm that traffic up...and then you can learn how to send it to the conversion tool. At every stage the funnel is going to fail.

I don't know why people expect things to magically work the first time, but it seems incredibly commonplace.

Thank you for your prompt reply Jason. Honestly, I'm not expecting things to magically work the first time as you said, I'm very patient and my goal is not to become a millionaire, all what I want is be the master of my self and get some financial freedom and have more time for my family.

How much traffic have you been sending? Has it been consistent? Do you have a baseline at all to work from? (I can't really answer this question as I was not able to see the analytics from bing and google, from the things I've learnd from videos, I'm not neither sure if I was launching campagns properly and I know that we can't consider that as a real baseline but I try.)

Are you capturing those leads you've been paying for, or have you been sending them straight to the offer? No I'm not, All the campaigns I launched on the past 5 months have been sent straight to the offer except one, I used the Instapage platforme for one offer, but I did not get traffic just impressions.

I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong as I'm really investing money and time and I will continue to do it for sure, that's why I took a step back and trying to figure out the issues and go from there more prepared. Thanks again.

You paid for the leads: capture them :-)

Give yourself the chance to send them more information, stories about the product/service, repeated opportunities to send them to the sales page.

Maybe the first time you send them won't be a good time for them to look.

At the most basic, you want to know how many leads you have sent to the offer.

You should have access to an affiliate dashboard that shows you how many hops you have sent.

As a marketer you have to learn how to count, and it's a different way of counting than we were taught as children.

Most marketers aren't counting at all. Some are counting # of leads to # of sales. Pro marketers are counting an additional factor, which tells them what side of the problem to work on, Traffic or Conversion.

What you've been doing is shooting in the dark. It would only work by luck: this person on this day is ready to buy this offer. Not likely to happen. And there's nothing repeatable about it: it's dependent on you continuously throwing traffic at the wall and hoping something sticks.

And you don't even know how much traffic you're throwing.

So get that sorted and start knowing your numbers.

Many thanks once again Jason, as I said you did the right diagnostic and you answered to all the questions I'm continuously asking my self, I will take these important missed information seriously, and I will look into different way to resolve each point like how to find the numbers on the affiliate dashboard and how to capture the leads, as well as find a good training cause I'm not sure if I will be able to figure out the right way of doing things.

  • A LOT of people come into internet marketing expecting to make money quickly and early with little invested. (You are spending money, but....) What they fail to realize is it's an industry with little barrier to entry (good & bad), and you are really trying to do skilled professional level work. (Then they quit.) My point is you may or may not be making mistakes and will benefit from paid classes, but you sound like you are underestimating the learning curve. ...you are doing a professional level skilled activity (like a plumber, carpenter, doctor, etc.) where you have to know something, and have some aptitude for it.

Sorry if this sounds offensive, just trying to give context you may or may not thought about.

I'm not expecting to make money quickly and I'm not underestimating the whole process neither, I'm just having difficulties and trying to get advices on how to face them, no one born with knowledge and I'll do all what I can to be successfull, so that's why I tried to check out if there is any helpful training expert can recommend.
Thank you so much for your time and the info.

    ....something broken in your funnel.

Are you tracking your marketing campaigns? What visitor doing after they see your offer? how long they stay before they leave? are visitors making it to the shopping cart page?

Zero sales usually means, that visitors are not interested in your offer. it either because they did not get what you selling or they are not interested. Try to

    1. Optimize your landing pages and sales funnel.
    2. Segment your audience into bunch of smaller targeted audience.
    3. Measure and split test your campaigns and focus on what making you MONEY!

Also use some marketing automation like autoresponder, chatbots and re-targeting pixels to re-engage with visitors.

It sounds like you are jumping around too much and not sticking with one area. This is what happens often but is not the best idea.

My recommendation is to stick with one traffic source and learn it well. Perhaps if you shared more details about your campaigns we could give advice on how to improve.

Before spending money on Pay Per Click you need to find out what the exact demographics of your customers are. Meaning Country, Language, Sex, Age. Do you want people clicking on your ad from a mobile phone, computer, tablet? Use Spyfu to get the hottest keywords from the top competitors in your market/niche.

I've been promoting CPA offers for over 18 years.

What type of offers are you promoting?

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. This is because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher compared to offers that require a sale to be made.

I favor offers that have a make, get or save money benefit to them, as they have overall worked the best. They also tend to have the greatest mass appeal (will be of interest to a large general audience), so the potential exists to produce high volume and they are fairly easy to cross promote on the back-end.

Some of the verticals (niches) I have done extremely well with are: education, insurance, loans, debt, credit, mortgage, assistance, discount offers, homeowner offers, etc...

The bulk of the PPL offers that I promote pay $20-$40 per lead, but I also promote offers that pay more and less. You don't want to get too caught up on what an offer pays because how well it converts is just as important. For example, if you have an offer that pays $9, but if it converts at 2X or more of a $20 offer, then it will perform about the same or possibly better. At the same time, if you have an offer that pays $90 and it converts poorly, it may not even be worth promoting.

I have also done just as good with dating website sign-ups and pretty good with free trial + S/H offers. I also promote a very limited number of offers that are straight sales. For them, mass appeal is still the number one thing I look for and I also look for one of the following...

    1) The product is new and/or novel-unique and you can't purchase it locally or even something similar. I don't waste my time with it once something similar shows up in Walmart.

    2) The buyer can truly get what is being offered at a decent discount.

    3) Solves a house is on fire type problem.

However, I mainly promote non-PPL offers on the backend.

Bottom line, it's far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.

    Something to think about.

As you shop for course KS, do think about your energy-intent. When we try things and fail, quickly, and give up on techniques quickly, we have too much fear in us which attaches us to outcomes. Failing energy buddy. Consider something you would do for free. Scan your interests. If you love your niche and genuinely feel like the work is the reward, this is a fab starting point for boosting your conversions.

    hi there,
as i have read and felt that it happens with all beginners, we expect a lot from ourselves,,we tried to grab all the things at once, but the logical way is different to get it done in professional manner,i personally made lot of mistake when start blogging,,i have seen lot of videos and spent lot of time to read blogs on my topic,,,but a bitter truth is, we all need a mentor who can define things step by step,
who can help us to sharpen our skills and provide better knowledge.
For better conversion we need client who is interested in our product,,who actually looking for it,,and its really hard to target actual audience from this ocean.
here some tools help us to learn ,
    for whom we are preparing,,
    where he is,
and what they are looking for,
    seo
    analytics
    social media
    and more
but the most important thing is your content, the way you send information to your target audience.and it will take time,,,have a great day

you're talking traffic, but traffic isn't necessarily translated into sales, you need to work on conversions. So keep the hard work on getting the traffic you need, but make sure your platform embraces your audience and is well personalized. Im thinking you could check out twik see if they work for you for your content and landing page optimization, this is one practice you could go for to improve conversions
