Welcome to WF. It is always unrealistic until you do it yourself.

I assure you if you put in the work and time. You'll see the results. Albeit not high numbers in the beginning but you will get there.

Two elements of making money: Traffic and Conversion.

Do Traffic and Conversion over and over and over again and you'll make money.

Traffic = people looking

Conversion = your offer.

Okay, there's a little more depth to it than that, but people looking at your offer is how you make money because some will buy.

It might be 1 in 10, it might be 1 in 50, it might be 1 in 200 or it might be 1 in 1000+. You don't know until you set up an offer and run traffic to it. Develop a baseline and improve upon it.

Just about everything to do with success is in your mind.

You will literally stop yourself from trying to do certain things because your mind will have convinced you "it's not possible." IMO more than 3/4 of the people on this forum suffer from this and it keeps them poor. They think it can't happen for them, so they won't even try.

There are a lot of people thinking there's some magic bullet or secret trick that brings success...and if only the gurus would share it they'd be successful, too. This is not true but it doesn't stop the poor from thinking that way.

Why did you get into the entertainment business?

What were you hoping to learn there? Did you get into it for the glamour or the money or what? Did you have a long term vision, or did you make a short term decision?

Having been "inside the system" for awhile, what would you like to do next? Do you think you could take what you've learned in entertainment and make money with it somehow? Could you make a course? Could you start doing deals like the producers are? Could you mimic them? Or are you at too low a level to have learned anything useful (I doubt it, but it's not my mind that matters but yours), and it's time to consider a move inside the industry?

Just about everyone picks a job because it's right in front of them. It's convenient. They don't put any thought into where it'll take them, what they want to learn, what role they'd like to be doing five years from now. I didn't do it that way.

Online marketing is like old school marketing. All that has changed is the medium of discussion and the platforms. Instead of newspapers you have websites. Instead of television you have YouTube. Instead of direct mail you have Facebook ads. It's really not much different. The names and syntax have changed, but the essentials are the same despite what the kids will tell you.

Look around, carefully pick a direction, and start learning your way in that direction.

Welcome to the forum. Your story is very similar to many many people, so you're in the right spot. There is also a wealth of information on all topics related to internet marketing.

Affiliate marketing is a great place to start. Not sure what numbers you saw, but the money can be very very good in affiliate marketing. As it has already been said, it comes down to traffic and conversions. If you learn those 2 skills, it won't matter if you choose affiliate marketing, blogging, youtub'ing etc., you can be successful. It always comes down to traffic and conversions. Those who don't make money online lack at least one of those critical skills. It's not that the program doesn't work, it's about having the skills.

Stick around and browse the different categories in the forum. You will learn a lot very fast.

Hi Melanie, welcome! Affiliate has great potentials. It may look daunting at the beginning but it gets better once you've started. Anything that brings in results would take some time, consistency and dedication, however, I would like you to remember that even if you are making small and little progress, at the end of the day, it's still progress.
