  • Without wanting to over simplify the process, the model that has been used most successfully over a lengthy period of time is to make sure you have the details of a group of people that you KNOW are interested in a specific topic.

Or to put it another way, it is the classic advice of creating a 'list'.

Once you have built this list of individuals who have an interest in a particular area you know you have a ready made pool of potential buyers, that you can contact on an ongoing basis with products or services within their area of interest.

In these days of social media, there are several ways you can build your 'tribe'; FB friends, Twitter followers etc, but still the best way is an email list.

A word of warning though, never lose sight of the fact that building a list is a means to an end (the end being selling affiliate products in your case). Too many marketers get caught up in the process of adding people to their lists and then forget about selling to that list.

I wish you all the best in your efforts

      Hi Anthony,

As I see it, the basic tools you need is :

      1) affiliate product to promote (that also provide email followups to send your list)
      2) A capture page product that will catch people emails
      3) An autoresponder to get the leads in and start sending daily emails
      4) Traffic!

Once you will start to send traffic(paid or free) to your capture page and get leads filing up your list, you will, over time will see results from those leads (if you will build good trust with them through proper email marketing methods)

This of course will take time to build, but hey! even Rome was not built in a day, right?

      Best of luck!

    Hey Anthony

In my opinion the right way to do it is first of all brand yourself. You see there are plenty of affiliate marketers promoting all sorts of products etc, so how can you differentiate yourself from everyone else in the marketplace?

You will need social media presence, your own custom landing pages, sales funnels etc. Having your own blog is also important for branding and delivering content to people interested in your business i.e. you.

"What are the tools and items and services do I need to start promoting and making sales and money/commission ?"

To start with you will need the following:
    1. Landing page creator (plenty of different software out there)
    2. Email autoresponder
    3. Tracking tool
    4. Later on you can set up your blog for which you will require domain name purchase, hosting etc.

Of course you can just forget all the above and start promoting affiliate links all over the place in the hope that someone will buy from your link. Unfortunately if you want to do things right you can't cut corners.

By the way setting your business up correctly is more important in the outset than focusing on traffic and conversions. That comes later.

    Hope this helps.

    All the best.

      Hello,

Thank you for that. I just want to ask and make sure this is correct (for what I know) don't I need a domain name and hosting to add and put a landing/squeeze page and to direct my customers/visitors to also for the e-mail auto responder, too

When starting out, you don't necessarily need a separate domain, hosting to create landing pages. For example i use Clickfunnels and everything is built in.

        Hope this helps.

So they host and create you a domain to sent your customers/subscribers too ? So I do not need to get a hosting plan and a domain then ?

ClickFunnels is one of the best..but high cost too..

          Onmy suggestion;
          1. Build a lead page.
          2. Offers a free stuff to others.
          3. Build email list with an ar (aweber or sendinblue.. both are free for limited).
          4. Send regularly free guide with high value thing for subscribers.
          5. Give one or more stuff to them.
          6. Offer an affiliate product too for once a wek.

Well i advise you to choose a niche where you have a passion like personal development ,make money online etc . Then you choose 2 or 3 offers to promote ,be sure to know what you promote ,are this quality for people as people will get trust on you based on what you recomend them

    Then start creating content :
Youtube channel .start creating videos in your niche that target diferent problems and keywords and in videos recomend your affiliate product

Blog : the same proces, start creating content around keywords and recomend offer in your blog post

Social media : interact in facebook groups being helpful and from time to time recomend a product to people

Most important build an email list ,this its very important in making money online process

I've been promoting affiliate / CPA offer for over 18 years. However, I do things differently than most.

I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. This is because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher compared to offers that require a sale to be made.

I favor offers that have a make, get or save money benefit to them, as they have overall worked the best. They also tend to have the greatest mass appeal (will be of interest to a large general audience), so the potential exists to produce high volume and they are fairly easy to cross promote on the back-end.

Some of the verticals (niches) I have done extremely well with are: education, insurance, loans, debt, credit, mortgage, assistance, discount offers, homeowner offers, etc...

The bulk of the PPL offers that I promote pay $20-$40 per lead, but I also promote offers that pay more and less. You don't want to get too caught up on what an offer pays because how well it converts is just as important. For example, if you have an offer that pays $9, but if it converts at 2X or more of a $20 offer, then it will perform about the same or possibly better. At the same time, if you have an offer that pays $90 and it converts poorly, it may not even be worth promoting.

I have also done just as good with dating website sign-ups and pretty good with free trial + S/H offers. I also promote a very limited number of offers that are straight sales. For them, mass appeal is still the number one thing I look for and I also look for one of the following...

    1) The product is new and/or novel-unique and you can't purchase it locally or even something similar. I don't waste my time with it once something similar shows up in Walmart.

    2) The buyer can truly get what is being offered at a decent discount.

    3) Solves a house is on fire type problem.

However, I mainly promote non-PPL offers on the backend.

Bottom line, it's far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.

I drive traffic and build responsive email lists by acquiring different forms of email data.

Fresh / targeted 3rd party data, which is email leads of users that have shown an interest in a specific PPL niche or offer and have given permission to receive messages from third parties. You get the opt-in record of each user and it's 100% can-spam compliant.

Generate real-time Co-reg, which works by placing an ad for a specific PPL offer on a co-registration network and their publishers display it and users that view the ad can request more info about the offer. When a user requests more info, their contact info is automatically imported into your ESP account / campaign and they are sent a message regarding the offer. You pay on a per lead basis.

There is also rev-share data, which is basically 3rd party data (typically fresh / targeted) that you get for $0 upfront costs and you split the revenue generated from sending it with the data provider. Those that provide rev-share are typically just aggregating the data and aren't marketers and provide it to those that know how to monetize.

So with the above, I am getting fresh / targeted leads specifically for the PPL offers I'm promoting. However, they are not typically as responsive as a high-quality opt-in list that you build yourself. So to compensate for this you need to work with higher volume. This is not a big deal since the cost is much cheaper and highly scalable compared to traditional list building methods.

When mailing, you want to skim off the top any fast-track conversions and then for long-term success, you want to always be collecting your opens / clickers, segmenting and removing unresponsive users...converting the leads from quantity to quality and into responsive lists. Which you can then also cross-promote other offers on the back-end.

So basically the real reason I promote PPL offers because they provide the path of least resistance to generating conversions / $$$ and converting the data into cash producing assets.

There's actually more to it than it sounds, but done right it can be extremely profitable. Everyone that I know that is in the business and knows what they are doing, for the most part, does 6-7 figures. While that's a huge range, much comes down to one's ability to scale and effectively build / manage the infrastructure needed to scale.

Couple things I didn't mention because it is beyond anyone doing when they first start out.

You can also get aged 3rd party data but it is more involved and requires special tools to do successfully.

Once you have experience, you can find companies that have opt-in and/or buyer lists that do little with them or nothing at all via email marketing...mainly they call all the users and or don't know anything about promoting affiliate / CPA offers to fully monetize their data. This requires more work because you have to find the companies, where the other options above it's easy to get access to the data. This is what would be considered 2nd party data, as you manage the companies data and monetize it for a percentage of the net profits generated.

    Something to think about.

    Hey Anthony!
I started off similar to yourself and was a bit lost as to where to actually get started but my recommendation to you would be to sign up to either ClickBank, JVZoo or CJ Affiliate (I use ClickBank predominantly) its completely free.
Next set up a blog (I discuss this in an article i have done, its in my signature) where you can put up blog posts on products you want to promote from those affiliate sites i mentioned. When you write this post focus on longtailed keywords.
Another way to go about this is starting a Youtube channel and posting videos about the products, personally i think set the blog up and do youtube video it makes you more of an authority!
That is a very simple way to get started so I hope it helps!

      Hello Lukeo,

But with Clickbank and the other selling platforms, don't you need to have it be your own site, to be able to put their Buy Button on the webpage (ex. ClickBank needs you to put their Buy Button on the Salespage, before they can approve your offer/product listing) ? Or is their a way around that ?

      Thank you,

My best advice is to buy a step by step course; focus on 1 traffic source and pick a product . Pick a product that is already converting and run traffic to it. You can learn a lot by failing; if you play safe you'll never learn.

In my opinion, take the extra mile. Make a brand and provide value. Make a blog and pair It with a YouTube channel and instagram/pinterest/Facebook. Provide valuable information for free at the beginning and earn goodwill. Make an email list and again, use It to provide value. Try your best to stand out from rest of the marketers in your niche. This method takes time but If you can handle the harsh beginning then you will have a successful, scalable and consistent long term business.

The best way in my book is to capture an email to follow up with. First time buyers is like under 5% but after you build that know, like and trust factor you can increase that number. Don't do what 90% of other affiliates do and simple direct link to your affiliiate links. Its a sure way to become a consumer and not a producer.

If you're looking to do it long term.

Set up a blog, doesn't have to be super fancy.

Set up simple capture form on your blog.

Write reviews or take common questions in your niche of choice and create content to place it on the blog. You can turn that written content into audio and host it as a podcast if you're reviewing/talking about something.

Set up a couple of capture pages you can also use to filter people to your blog posts etc.

It's more a case of doing it consistently and you'd use the growth of your list to send them back to your site which in turn helps it out in the ranking over time.

It's not a sexy way of doing it, but again. If you're in it for the long game, you'll do well.

    :-)

Hi Anthony! The best way to promote other people´s products online is to first build an email list. This can be done by having an optin form on your blog. Another way is to purchase traffic to your optin form from sites like Udimi.com.

Then you build a relationship with the people on your list by sending them useful and helpful information regularly. Over time you can recommend products and services to your list. This is how you can make sales. This is a long-term strategy.

If you are looking to make money "instantly", then you should definitely setup your own YouTube channel and make videos closely related to the products you want to promote. You can link to the product sales page from the description box below the video.

Also, YouTube videos tend to rank well in the search engines.

Traffic to opt in page to thank you page then email follow up sequence.

That is what many marketers in all niches are doing.

Your biggest thing will be finding great places to market your business.

If you want to make more money as an affiliate, try to focus on programs that pay you residual income and an income from upsells.

And lastly, the best advice I can give you is to NEVER GIVE UP no matter what. Things are not going to be a walk in the park for you. You will need to stay the course no matter how good or bad things go your way.

I use number of my social media accounts and build few websites dedicated to affiliate products, that's where i get all my affiliates from. It takes time to build authority, and get large number of audience, followers, readers.. But make sure you don't spam anyone by sending too many offers, other-ways it can kill your efforts

Make it simple and don't overcomplicate things. Make sure your commissions are either:

    1) High range ($100-$1000 or more)

    2) Recurring each month for as long as the customer stays in the program

    3) Come from you doing great free marketing, and you sustain a large income from free marketing tactics

It's simple. Generate qualified leads from a lead capture page, follow up on them via email, then offer a link to click through to - to the affiliate offer.

Or you can send traffic to a landing page that has a hover ad on it to capture leads who don't purchase the affiliate product - and follow up on them later.

And then those who do browse your landing page, entice and offer them ways to click on the main product offer so that they can click your affiliate link - and decide whether or not to buy.

    Anthony,
I think that one of the easiest ways to promote affiliate products is by
    1. getting a free clickbank account
    2. selecting a clickbank product within your favorite niche
    3. creating a squeeze page where you offer something free in exchange for an email address
    4. sending traffic to your squeeze page by using Solo Ads or creating youtube videos.

The benefit of using solo ads is that you are using someone else's list to get some subscribers of your own and you can get these leads very fast (sometimes within a few hours), but solo ads do cost money.

You Tube videos are free to make and upload, but in order to get them seen, you must be sure to optimize them correctly.

I have use both of these methods successfully...it's just a matter of which you want to do. Good luck!

if you directly send an affiliate link to a solo ad vendor , this is what happens:

you pay let's say $100 for 200 clicks....

most of the time, depending on your offer and on the list from the solo ad provider you will earn $0

        now you have lost $100..

let's say you are extremely lucky and make one sale with another 200 clicks, you will earn (depending on your product) let's say $35

now you only lost $65 ...

you see what happens... you have to keep buying and buying and buying solo ads for the rest of you life because you will only make money when you are lucky and overall you will loose so much money that you can not believe it..

whereas in the same example when you do it the right way and first capture the email adress from the person, this is what happens: You could end up with similar results like above BUT now you can start marketing to those people who were interested into your offer, you can write a lot of emails to them, you can start to gain trust and convince them that you are a helpful person and that your product is something they need to solve their problem..

in this scenario you are able to make another two $35 sales (for example) and now you would have made profit and not lost all of the money you have used for the solo ad..

and if you are a clever marketer you can offer those people also a high ticket product later and make $1000, $2000 sales... nooooow you really would be in profit which would never have been possible without capturing the email address first

    Hello Anthony,
I'm an affiliate marketer and entrepreneur. I have a suggestion and that is to find a mentor that can help show you the ropes. We ALL need a mentor so we don't create the same mistakes they did and cost us money. I follow 3 mentors currently and love the advice and training they offer.

It's also not all about selling, it's about creating a list (emails) and offering value to them over time. They need to gain trust and confidence in you....then you can pitch a sale to them. So many affiliate products are just crap. Don't sell crap because people won't buy from you after the first time they get stung!

There are tools you will need to do this correctly. Think of it as an investment in your business. I only buy what I know will be needed and my mentors suggest. I used to have the shiny object syndrome. I bought LOTS of affiliate products only to find out they were crap and didn't work like I thought. Nothing comes easy - being an entrepreneur is hard work and it does pay off.

I have copied part of what I wrote in another post for your benefit.

Read all that is written below. Please feel free to ask me any question..

To succeed online, a newbie needs knowledge, consistency, persistence and endurance. Without these 4 traits, failure is assured

The best advise I will give any newbie that really wants to succeed is that, they first build a funnel. No funnel, then don't bother starting or you'll fail.

    Why did I say funnel?

Why won't a newbie get frustrated when he sees little or no result for his efforts?

He keeps sending traffic to his affiliate link and gets clicks but no sales. It can be really be frustrating.

However, if he builds a squeeze page, he first gets the visitor to subscribe and join his list. Getting your first subscriber is something of joy. That is the essence of building a funnel.

Then he begins to send the subscriber a series of autoresponder messages which increases the likelihood of the subscriber buying. The greater the number of people in his funnel, the more likely of not only making a sale, but of making consistent sales.

If he builds a funnel and starts using free traffic methods and gets 10 people to subscribe to his list daily, he'll have a 1,000 subscribers in a 100 days time. If he decides to buy solo ads from the little money he is making from his list, he could make up that number within 2 months. I'm sure within a year if he is consistent, 10,000 subscribers.

At that point, he stops a being a newbie and can start teaching others.

If you're a newbie and you find it hard to build a funnel, then simply head down to Fiverr.com. They are the only online freelancing site I use regularly and that's why I can recommend them.

Simply search "sales funnels" and you'll find lots of gigs with sellers ready to build sales funnels for you. Some can be as low as $50.

To build a funnel, you'll need a lead magnet, a series of autoresponder messages, a autoresponder provider such as aweber, getresponse or clickfunnels and a domain and host.

You can register a .info at Namecheap for $2.99 if you can't afford $11 for a .com. You can get cheap quality hosting at warriorforum's marketplace. Just go to "webhosting offers". Hosting can be as cheap as $2 a month and you'll pay monthly.

To commence, first find a product to market. However, not just any offer will do. It must be a product that has good affiliate support. Whatever product you want to promote, make sure it is top selling in Clickbank , Jvzoo or Warriorplus as well. Also, ensure it has swipes as it is those swipes that you'll use for your autoresponder series.

After you pay for the sales funnel gig, the seller will request for the following in order to set up your gig. They are:

    1. A hosted domain name
You'll provide them access to your cpanel for them to create the squeeze page.
You will therefore have to provide them the username and password of your cpanel.

    2. Your autoresponder login details.

    3. Your swipes which they will use for the email autoresponder series. You'll give them according to the order you want them sent. The seller would have provided you with the info of which swipe to send first and which to send last.

    4. A lead magnet. That is then freebie you offer your visitor in order to subscribe to your list. Your freebie must be related to your real offer which is the product you're promoting as an affiliate

So, if you're promoting a product for weight loss, it must be a weight loss ebook.

At times, the seller provides you with a lead magnet.

If they did not, don't freak out. You can simply go to Buyqualityplr.com and purchase a lead magnet related to your offer. Ebooks or reports do best as lead magnets.

I chose buyqualityplr as their PLR are of high quality. Many PLR's are littered with bad English and lots of grammatical errors. The time you take editing poorly written PLR can be better used preparing your own lead magnet if you know how.

Ensure you put in your affiliate links in relevant sections of the ebook or report. Used the Footer to market your primary product. Ensure you track all the links in your lead magnet by using bitly or any trusted link tracker.

Once the funnel has been set up, and handed over to you, start marketing it like crazy. Watch as many videos as possible on Youtube on traffic generation, both free and paid. Concentrate on free initially and use a mixture of two eventually.

Getting free traffic takes time and persistence.. Paid traffic is immediate traffic but it involves a learning curve to make a profit.

    I wish you the best

Everyone has some expertise, something to share, someone to help. Start from there. If you dont have any then find one and start learning about it.

I think this is a good starting point. What is your expertise, share your knowledge, give tips, help people by solving problems.

You can provide help on different platforms like FB, Twitter, Linkedin, Quora and whatever is related to you and where people are finding solutions to their problems. If you can afford, develop website, do the same on that site and provide solutions.

There are hundreds of ways to do affiliate marketing. Once you are on the track, then start implementing techniques discussed in this thread and see the results. Start small and grow bigger.

Affiliate marketing involves referring a product or service by sharing it on a blog, social media platforms, or website. The affiliate earns a commission each time someone makes a purchase through the unique link associated with their recommendation. One of the easiest ways to make money online if done right.

Hey there, Anthony, there are countless ways to promote affiliate products. The most important thing is not to fall into the trap of direct linking, in other words, sending people straight to the sales page with a raw link.

I know it is easy and tempting but you will struggle if you do this as many affiliates do.

The first option which is fast and easy is to invest in landing page software, plus an Autoresponder service and start building a list of subscribers why? People very rarely buy a product or service the first time around.

That is why we see the same adverts over and over again on TV and social media so it must work right or they wouldn't keep spending advertising dollars on their adds.

It is a proven fact that it takes the average person 5/7 views on a product or service before they make a buying decision.

If you decide on this option to get traffic to your landing page you will need to invest in paid advertising, for example, Facebook, Bing PPC, Youtube etc..if you want to get fast results.

However, don't underestimate the skills required to get targetted traffic to your offer you may consider investing in online education why? There is a lot more to this than meets the eye.

The second option is to create a Blog or Website this can take time to build your brand and you need to understand how SEO works (Search Engine Optimization) but can be fun writing about a specialized subject. Word to the good if you are in a hurry this is probably not for you.

There plenty more options but this should give you food for thought,

Hope that helps and good luck

Hi Anthony! I Try to answer all your questions. (You can also contact me if you want more information).I have been an affiliate marketer for a long time and this is how I earn a full-time earning promoting affiliate products and services.

"I would like to know how do you go by promoting other people's products and services as an affiliate ?"

Answer: Personally, I have noticed that the best way is to focus 99% of your efforts on building your email list. When people are on your list, you can send them useful information and recommend your affiliate product as a solution to to their problem. An example from the real world: The newspaper arrives in the morning and you see and advertisement - would you instantly buy that product or service? Probably not. A person needs to see the offer around 7 times before he/she takes action. If you promote directly an affiliate offer, no one is going to buy and you would be wasting your time.

"What is the right way and the best way to do it ?"

Answer: First of all, it takes money to make money online. The best way and right way (in my opinion) is to invest in an autoresponder account such as Aweber, Getresponse or Sendshark. It costs around $20 per month. Then you need to look at the product or service you want to promote and build a compelling optin form you promote online. When people sign up, you send them automatically information regularly and your product will be the solution to their problem. When they buy, you earn a commission. You must also write messages in your autoresponder, these will be sent out automatically when people sign up. The product owner often has ready made email swipes you can use.

What are the tools and items and services do I need to start promoting and making sales and money/commission ?

Answer: You need to find a GOOD product, something that pays you a recurring monthly commission (like a subscription). This way you don´t have to get new customers every month, instead your income will grow the more you get people on your list. I personally use the SendShark.com autoresponder. It costs $25 per month and I can get a list of 50,000 subscribers, so it is a good deal compared to the competition.

Then I advertise my optin page for free, and also use paid traffic sources such as Udimi and Traffic For Me.

There is A LOT more to know about earning an income promoting affiliate products. I guess all other Warrior forum members agree with me when I say that you should definitely focus on building your list first!

    I hope this helps,
    Tom
