Embed An Affiliate Link into a Banner

I have researched this but information is very thin on the ground.

My problem.....
I have an affiliate banner that I want to put on a Newsletter.
Obviously if I give the copy of banner to the Newsletter owner I want to make it clickable with my affiliate link inside .

I do not know how to do that.

Can anyone recommend a tutorial that would help please.

      if YOU want to track the number of impressions the image gets in relation to clicks.. the answer is no.

      I would never give the image and give the link... I wont even enter a deal where that is the way they want it done... To loose the ability to track A) what you are paying for, eyeballs on your offer. B) how well that list responds to said offer. and C) what the conversion rate of the effort is.. is kinda silly really
