Guerrilla Marketing Ideas

I do brand identity and web design by finding clients strictly online.

The plan is to start offering my service locally too!

One of the best guerrilla marketing ideas that I've seen is to paint an old bicycle, 100% in a fluorescent color and chain it somewhere in a city (with your ad on it of course).

Does anyone of you know any similar marketing ideas that would suit my service better?

How would you market my business in general?

I'm looking for a no-cost or cheap ideas for the start!

Thank you!

Get teacher's color chalk (fat type)
Make a Display AD on the SIDEWALK or create some sidewalk art and insert your ad.

Just refresh every few days and redo after a rain shower! LOL!

But its free, low cost chalk, fun and no legal issues (but check with a lawyer first anyway).

That actually works. An internet cafe in Manila, Philippines pays talented people to place ads with arrows on sidewalks that lead to the cafe.

When not raining you should see the ads around the intersection and across the street at McDonalds

That's an interesting idea. How big is the ad on the bike?

  • Drive around with signage on a car. That works!

I've seen rear windshields with "Curiosity can make your rich call:555 2679840 now" pasted on it. God alone knows what they have to offer you, but your curiosity may just get you to call that number.

That may work for you too OP. Put your number on your car and the words " Call: 012 345 6789 for Your best local guerilla marketing". I'm sure you can come up with something better. Invest in some business signage if you haven't already done so and pay schools in your area, and put your signage up on prominent fences in your area. You can pay home owners a small fee to have your signage up on their wall facing highway traffic.

All of the ideas are great.. but where is the value? SURE they see the ad, but seeing and acting on are 2 different things. IF you are in the States, and I am sure this will work in other places, but I live in the States and use this strategy here. Download the Google Contribute APP. And start using it.

Once you get the hang of it, you can walk into a business that may not have a listing and ask if they would like to be listed on Google maps for free. A couple of questions and pictures later.. you wait a few days and DING, the Map listing you created for your potential client is now live and searchable. THIS IS VALUE.

The best part is it creates value for both the potential client, and for you as well. IF you were to pick up a web design job, you could then go in and edit the listing to include your newly designed sites URL for the client - which creates traffic, and traffic in the eys of most Web Design clients equates to a successful website.

This meets all of your criteria, its free, it will actually get you work ( I use the same strategy often ) It breaks the ice giving you the ability to speak to a business owner ( the actual decision maker ) and if you hand out a card every time you do this, you may not land every one, but they may talk to someone and say hey this guy walked in my store bing bang 15 minutes later he left and 2 days later my store is listed on google maps, you should give him a call.

    Hope that Helps!
