This year I obtained my diploma in Digital Marketing, during the classes I noticed that several of my colleagues had some difficulties with technical concepts related to computer science, in the same way that I, having worked on IT for many years, had difficulties with some marketing concepts.
Then I decided to prepare some talks on technology, at an introductory level and focused on that group that is mainly composed of students and professionals of communication, journalism, and advertising, and are interested in digital marketing.
The first talk is about artificial intelligence and machine learning, what it is, and how important it is today in our lives and especially in marketing.
At first, it would be a single classroom class of about two hours, to introduce the topic in an entertaining and accessible way. I have delineated it and I want to ask you to help me define the scope since I am not sure of the starting point and the depth to which the talk should reach.
For example, will it be necessary to include a brief explanation of what an algorithm is? I refer to the basic concept of the program. Since the term will be used throughout the development of the topics.
On the other hand, after introducing the types of Machine Learning, will it also be useful to review methods and algorithms that are used in each type, or is it to go into much detail?
The goal is for students to understand what is the meaning of Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Big Data, Chatbots, predictive searches, etc. at the conceptual level and serve as a starting point for those who want to delve into the subject. Also, generate a space where they can ask and remove all doubts.
And finally, I also ask you about what the topic of the next talk could be.
I was thinking of something like describing what goes on under the hood of a web page or a mobile application, referring to the different technologies that come together so that we see that result, focused mainly on software components, not on data transmission. What do you think?
Sorry for my English, the talks will be in Spanish.
