My First CPA Compaign

Hello Warriors,

I'm new to the Affiliate Marketing Industry (specifically the CPA model business).
When I first decided to invest my time and money and start my online business in the CPA affiliate marketing, I was so excited that I have read every forum thread, blog posts and watched bunch of videos out there but guess what? I never started my first campaign, it felt so fun to read a lot of information on a daily basis regarding CPA marketing, it felt like I'm doing some progress, it's like when you search online on how to be more productive and you read books and watch tons of videos about how to create SMART goals and to prioritize your tasks every day, but you don't ever try and make that first move.
My main excuse to not start my first campaign is the tight budget I have ($200), but I decided to launch and dig in the dirt, it's a lot better than analysis paralysis and get stuck in analyzing and planning, so here is my plan to start my first campaign :

1) Research a specific vertical/offer that fits my experience and tight budget
2) Apply for a newbie-friendly affiliate network that have the CPA offer I'm going for
3) Search for the appropriate traffic source (Adcash is my first option due to its low minimum deposit requirement) or maybe Facebook for whitehat offers.
4) Create ad creatives (ad copy and a landing page) and get a host and a domain name on Bluehost
5) Send that damn traffic and start some split-testing

Maybe I'll end up losing my entire budget before getting a positive ROI, but that's the point. I will learn much more than just reading posts and articles about how to launch your first successful campaign.
I still need an outside opinion from guys like you, so what do you think about this simple plan and do you have any suggestions I can implement to improve my plan and avoid wasting time and money.
I would also like to know where I can find CPA offers without applying to an affiliate network, so I can find the offers first then choose the affiliate networks.

Note: My experience in affiliate is medium, I'm running a local e-commerce business right now where I sell some health&fitness products on Facebook.

    First CPA Campaign is always been special as something is there with the first Campaign. I'm also like you, I never started my Campaign but feel good to hear about your first CPA Campaign.

    I can take some action from your first Campaign, There are many things to consider for First CPA Campaign.

    This month, I've been promoting affiliate / CPA offers for 19 years. However, I do things differently than most.

    I heavily promote PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. This is because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher compared to offers that require a sale to be made.

    I favor offers that have a make, get or save money benefit to them, as they have overall worked the best. They also tend to have the greatest mass appeal (will be of interest to a large general audience), so the potential exists to produce high volume and they are fairly easy to cross-promote on the back-end.

    Some of the verticals (niches) I have done extremely well with are: education, insurance, loans, debt, credit, mortgage, assistance, discount offers, homeowner offers, etc...

    The bulk of the PPL offers that I promote pay $20-$40 per lead, but I also promote offers that pay more and less. You don't want to get too caught up on what an offer pays because how well it converts is just as important. For example, if you have an offer that pays $9, but if it converts at 2X or more of a $20 offer, then it will perform about the same or possibly better. At the same time, if you have an offer that pays $90 and it converts poorly, it may not even be worth promoting.

    I have also done just as good with dating website sign-ups and pretty good with free trial + S/H offers. I also promote a very limited number of offers that are straight sales. For them, mass appeal is still the number one thing I look for and I also look for one of the following...

    1) The product is new and/or novel-unique and you can't purchase it locally or even something similar. I don't waste my time with it once something similar shows up in Walmart.

    2) The buyer can truly get what is being offered at a decent discount.

    3) Solves a house is on fire type problem.

    However, I mainly promote non-PPL offers on the backend.

    Bottom line, it's far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.

    Something to think about.
