So Ive been thinking about getting back into Organic SEO since I left around 2006. I left when meta tags were still usedand Blogs were just to talk about your daily life.
SEO was fine tuning meta tags knowing what needed to go where etc in the 3 major tags. I had a webpage content writer but my words or phrases in the pages and walla. I fine tuned it and uploaded rescanned with my sitemap with my sitemap generator and made my money with affiliate site.
The major question i have now is where do i start? Do i get a domain(s) and hire an editor for my content again and link to the affiliate pages via a php script?

So help is needed.

Didn't like my last answer? I understand LOL So lets try this. This is a response to another post here on the forum, and I basically lay out how I create and share content: https://www.warriorforum.com/beginne...l#post11549033

Its not the "easiest" route, but it is extremely effective.

    Hope that Helps!

Are they used to rank.. the title tag to some extent yes... the others are CTA ( Click through rate ) more than anything. and THAT ( CTA ) would be a rank variable

As goof as this is going to sound the last place you should want someone to land is on your homepage. So submit a sitemap.

        Hope that Helps!

As much as things have change with Google.. the reality is for the most part they have remained the same since the 2003 Florida update. So if you practiced SEO after 2003 .. sure there are some minor changes but all in all it has not changed that much.

ok. I got outta SEO with Dreamweaver and tables was it?? My products links etc were on the right I believe and text links on the left... Hmm been awhile. I would tell the rewriter to include a word or phrase 7 times and another one 5 times and another one 3 times and so on and after 10 articles i went in to play with the meta tags and then submitted the sitemap. I think i was averaging 500 to 1000 a month. Just with my job and all didn't have time to keep up anymore.

Be it that you used Dreamweaver or the fact that you know what tables are ( god bless you lol ) you will have an amount of a learning curve in front of you.

In todays world you have things like "Google Brain" that matches context of an article vs the users intent in search. I still prefer to play an exact match type keyword game with content creation but have context in mind.

I believe and practice that Tags still have an effect. Img, title, and description tags in particular. Keywords tags are a thing of the past.

Something that wasn't done back in the day is inner site cross linking. I try to follow a 2 inbound link per page philosophy... sometimes more but never less.

Consistency and CONTEXT at the site level I believe to be a big deal. If you have a site about Watches as an example, a majority if not all of your content pages should be about that - watches. Be it pocket watches or wrist watches or vintage watches or Seiko watches etc etc. The minute you throw Wall Clock in there, I feel page and site values are decreased.

Just spend some time and look up "Hummingbird", "Google Brain" and "RankBrain" and the core concepts and ideas that "Runs" Google will be clearer, and then easier to follow.

          Hope that Helps!

Sounds like you must of never come across Allan Gardyne. I used to spend hours on his Associate Programs forum and reading his guide in 2006. To me it's like you had a very narrow scope of affiliate marketing and not very effective process for your blogs back then.
