Are you using any software to aid you?

I built a shopify store and tried Facebook ads, but this didn't really work.

      So no additional software.

Good stuff . I would say learn and apply . Get active in 1 or 2 groups related to your niche and contribute.

And as far as having an ecommerce website I would advise you to post some content to drive traffic , build trust and build awareness about your products and services.

How did you use facebook ad's. Theres a common misconception about how mass marketing is good, but realistically, those who are not in your niche would completely ignore it. So if you are spending money of facebook ad's, niche down as much as you can by interests youd want your customers to have

Well.... I tried to narrow the audience. So I ended up with 180.000 and spent $200 for 7 days. Only sold one product.

I checked on Aliexpress and there were over 6000 products sold. So it's a good product to sell in my opinion.
But on the other hand.... what do I know about this market? I'm very new to this business and this is my first try.

I have created another shop with a product in boating industry that is an additive for bottom paint which will reduce haul outs and save you tons of money. I do not want to make the same mistake with this product. It is the only product on market. So I want to understand how Facebook ads work, but I don't.

Will 2019 be the year you will finally create a profitable online business?

You've thought about it every year. You've gone over countless online business ideas in your head and imagined what your life would be like if you could quit your job and generate money on the internet.

You could travel the world with ease, create a comfortable lifestyle for yourself and your family, and achieve financial freedom. You could finally escape the constraints of the 9-5 lifestyle and own your time completely.

But then, what happens? Usually, you spend some time considering the ideas but ultimately resort back to your comfort zone.

The steady income of your secure job, the ease of having somebody else tell you what to do every day (instead of trying to figure it out from scratch), and the consistent schedule.

You tell yourself, "You know what? This year is a little too crazy. I'll start that online business next year!"

      That's not true.

I'm working on it every day, because I want it. But I don't understand marketing. All these online things are a secret for me.

First decide whether you wish to go for long run or your goals are to get some profit and move to the next business. Your goals seem to be short term, as you are not talking about generating leads, increasing traffic on on eCommerce web portal, how about SEO, SMO and so on.

I remember one of our clients from the same niche 5-6 years back. He followed tactics like distributing press releases, posting useful articles on good websites. Why don't you consider such tactics?

Oh I did. I am advertising in boating magazines and I just talked to a news paper and they will write an article about the product.

The reason for this is.... I have no idea what you are talking about. I told you I am a beginner and don't know how to work with these powerful tools like SEO. Don't even know what SMO means.

And I do want to go for a long run business of course.

  • Hi Patyracer, I just want to give value.I hope this one helps. FB ads works by attracting your target audience and your target market. And the same time we as user, facebook would like us to have a good use and have a great experience in using this platform. We are the ones who supply data points in fb. Like our interest and what we would like to see (ex.) like in our newsfeed.

  • One of d mistake of doing fb ads is that in "detailed targeting section " you must not get one box to insert all your target option but you must get separate boxes of interest to generate a specific number of target audience that being said its like lowering down the number to have a successful rates in reaching out to people. For you to be successful in generating leads and conversions.

To be honest.... I have no idea what you are talking about.

The problem you have at the moment is you say "i know nothing" so people who know 'a little more than nothing' will answer as will those who know a great deal.

You won't know which is which until you've read more here and understand better how forums work. Read all replies/advice and sort out what you think works for you...ignore the rest.

The more detailed and knowledgeable your questions here are - the better answers you will have. Want to know about FB ads or about guest posting or influencers? Use the forum search and read those threads you find - do the same with google search to find free tutorials. Then, AS you learn, ask specific questions here - and the answers will be more targeted to what you need.

All IMers start at the beginning but you have to dig out the answers sometimes. In your niche, some of threads about selling that are in the 'offline' section might be helpful, too.

try more methods and find out what works for you the best. If you watch "income school" youtube channel, you'll be able to learn more about earning money online.

Hey Patrik! My advice to you is be patient. Yes, you can earn a lot of money through internet business but in return it requires a lot of work. Success will not come to you instantly. You could be doing the work now but could only see the result after years of labor.

Welcome to this world of internet marketing. But use Facebook Ads Carefully. It will suck your budget very quickly if you will not take care of your interest targeting. Research your interests and start with a low budget. If you found your winning campaign then try to increase your budget gradually.

Congratulations on taking the first step.
There are a couple of things you can do but jumping into facebook ads is not wise as you can spend a lot of money without getting a return on your investment.
My best advice would be to find someone who is having success in this market and model what they are doing. If you can afford to pay for a mentor then do that. Make sure you do your homework and make sure you try and contact their students.
There is a lot to learn and you will make mistakes but don't worry it is good to make mistakes as this is the best way to learn.
All the best with your business

With only FB Ad's you cant run the business. First, analyze well about your site's position in SERP and if you do a long term business, you must analyze it and define your own strategy.

    Learn first then Earn !!!
