Need some advice on ads

Hello everyone. I am working on a store right now that is going to be selling 1 personalized product, and I'm looking for some advice on how I should go about advertising it initially.

I dont really want to reveal exactly what the product is, but its a personalized canvas that I will be using POD to fulfill.

Ultimately, I know I want to use customers submitted content and videos to advertise it, its just a matter of getting that traction to begin.

I dont believe this product needs a video, as its pretty straightforward by just looking at a photo, so what would you guys suggest?

Ive considered using influencers, which I think I can budget in, but would require waiting for the product to arrive to them before I could get the content.

I've also entertained the idea of simply recording my computer screen and going through the creation/ordering the product and shipping that over to fiverr to be edited and running some ads with that.

I believe this particular product might do really well on Pinterest, but I have no experience running ads with them. Whats the norm there? Do video ads typically dominate or would I be able to get away with using a photo?

I know I'm being rather vague, and my questions are all over the place but any feedback is greatly appreciated.

I'd start with FB Ads first... create a few small campaigns at first and keep optimizing them focusing on improving your conversion rates (both in your ads and your website / landing page). If you come up with a few profitable campaigns after the testing phase then you just scale them up to increase your sales. Just make sure you create effective ads... this takes time and a lot of testing and optimizing, but it's worth the effort.

Influencer marketing, social media & video marketing are also great ways to gain traction and generate sales for your product. I'd focus on that too right from the start.

Other than that, you could also post your product on popular marketplaces... the idea is to promote it via as many channels as possible and have multiple traffic sources to reach more potential customers.

Running ads. It is not magic. Successful ads match the market to the message.

So, who buys similar stuff now? Is there a lot of this on Pinterest? Etsy? eBay?

Suggest you start with a thorough look at your prospect, and get to know the reasons they would and do buy such personalized items. Is it a gift market?

Is it a keepsake? Is it something for all age groups?

Before you can even consider writing your ad, let alone where to run it, you have to consider WHO is going to see it, where, and will they be motivated enough to find out more.

I think you are a step or two ahead of yourself at this time.

Well I had promoted pins in the past with them when it was 5 cents per click minimum cost but now it looks like it's at 10 cents. I also see they have Cost Per Action & Cost Per Impressions options. They also have video options but I see that isn't available for desktop user so personally I wouldn't try it.

The reality is that if you create a good Pinterest account that you can get a lot of free traffic as your account gets more people following your boards. I use Pinterest for a few websites with being currently active on two of them. One has 738.3k monthly views with 7000 link clicks in last 90 days (3.6k followers) & another 376.6k monthly views with 5600 link clicks last 90 days (3.3k followers). That's a lot of free advertising (however there is pinning time). I love the "longevity" factor with Pinterest of your pins/post unlike that of Facebook/Twitter. Make sure your keywords are in the title/description or you won't show up in people's searches.

I set up different business accounts for each site so if you haven't done so already - do it at https://business.pinterest.com/en/creating-your-account .
