Introducing myself and my Experiment

Hello, I am new to this forum. I was seeking for a community where I can share and discuss my experience on my current Marketing Experiment.

(I will post about my Experiment later.) - EDIT: I posted about Experiment in the reply post, see below.

Professionally, Marketing is just a very small part of my work. But for the future, I am planning to get more into Marketing, since I feel very curious about it. I enjoy reading columns/watching reports on how companies managed to market their products in a smart way (or failed in this regard).

So why am I doing this Rap Music Experiment thing?: I want to test some marketing strategies, since I am a beginner in this field. My goal is to prove that I am able to put the theory into practice and actually get results out of it. I couldn't achieve that yet, but I am working towards that "It actually worked!" experience!

It is not my goal to sell anything. I would like to measure the success with data, which could be translated into view counts, followers or engagement by users. On the long run, the gained experience may become helpful for my "real life", which means my profession or future business.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions. And thank you for reading my introduction.

With kind regards
Zousanpao

(English is not my mother language, so sometimes I might say weird things. I am asking for your understanding.)

    Marketing experiment with Rap Music

In my introduction I have briefly summarized my motivation, the reason for this experiment. Please see the introduction if you want to understand why.

    Let's get straight into it.
    *
In the past I have managed to get a music video with 11k views total.
    *
I know, this is nothing compared to famous artists, but it is something at least.
    *
Recently, I have started a project (part of my experiment) with the Hip Hop sub-genre "Lofi", to see how people react to that. The released songs under this project, 3 for now, all have less than 100 views, which is very low. So, one could say that the video with 11k was pure luck, but I have other videos with view counts in between: 500 views, 1000 views, 3000 views, etc. So, I am trying to examine this from a marketing point of view.

The first thing that came to my mind was that the content might not fit to the segment I have been targeting (maybe not really targeting intentionally) in the past. Maybe I should have started a new account with a new concept, like a company establishing a new brand.
    *
On the other hand, I know that it is difficult to start from scratch. If I really want to repeat my "little success" anytime soon I should build upon the customers (listeners, viewers, subscribers) I already have.
    *
    ...
    *
For now, I stop here. Please let me know, if you have any opinion or advice. I am a beginner in Marketing, but I am very interested in this field. So I feel very motivated about learning from you and understand this discipline on a deeper level.

There's not a thing wrong with your English.

but I have other videos with view counts in between: 500 views, 1000 views, 3000 views, etc. So, I am trying to examine this from a marketing point of view.
If you haven't already, use VidIQ.
