Is ezinearticles still around?

We still use them for our company, but not as a main source of traffic driver, rather more as a source of "relaxed" content for the general community. We post the ezines on blog (not seo optimized) and "promote" them through email to our lists in order to not "spam" subscribers with sales emails too heavily.

I would rather spend more time building my own blog than someone'a else.

The odds are in your favor than ever before too. Get refined keywords and do some onpage SEO and quality blogging.

The fact that your headline asks if they are still around pretty much gives you your answer. A simple search shows that they still exist but it has been many, many years since I ever saw something on ezine that ranked on the first page (or anywhere). Back in the day (before Panda), they would show up on the first page of search results all the time. Those days are long gone; thus, so is the utility of ezine articles. They don't even have dofollow links anymore.

I used to use EzineArticles many years ago but these days not that effective.

If you like writing articles then post them on your own blog at least you are in control. However, choosing the right keywords is the secret to getting on the first page of Google or Bing

It works very poorly. When you don't have what to do, you could also post on EzineArticles .

Totally agree with most.. EzineArticles is not that effective. They will only be ready to post your articles if you chooses to pay for their subscription.

My last 2 articles that were submitted in Oct last year (I believe) were still not posted though it mentioned that they would notify me via email once my articles is published. But thus far and to date, NOTHING. I was told by some people that they would give priority to those that subscribe to their portal.

So there you have it.

what about taking my old ezinearticles and putting them on a new website, or are they considered property of ezinearticles?

omg just discovered I have 100, 500word articles in a niche on ezinearticles that I'm no longer active in and they don't point to a site. What do you think is the best strategy to make some money out of those?

Is is a good idea to put them on a new site, but perhaps combine them if possible so they are 2000 words since google seem to like that length.

Maybe but a buyer would want to know these articles have been online for years - have been indexed on EZA and may have been copied on other sites as EZA permits that.


Is you site linked in the bios of these articles?

hwo do I find out how widely syndicated they have been? If they are copied actoss multiple sites they are pretty worthless to use right?

Haven't logged in to EZA for years - but there used to be a page of 'results' that showed how many times your articles were viewed - don't remember if syndication numbers were included. There are sites like copyscape (premium) that can search - but....


Bigger question: Why are you wasting time on 10 yr old articles that didn't do well ten years ago?



I missed the statement above that your articles 'don't point to a site' - why write 100 articles if they did not have links leading to your money site?

Do you remember what the goal of your EZA articles was at the time?


I ask that because you posted you haven't done anything in IM for 10 years and posted you quit because you were not succeeding. Pulling up such old articles and expecting different results is not logical to me.


Are you planning to work in the same niche as you did 10 years ago? If so, what will be different this time? Your income goals are so low ($100/month) developing a service you can offer on freelance sites might be one idea to look into.


Don't mean to sound negative - but you need to look beyond the obvious and develop a plan that will work considering your skill set and time available.

they did point to a site before, but it appears to have been removed by ezine. the articles + affilite offer did produce cash at low levels. But I dropped out of IM and didn't pay for domain renewal, hosting. I will not pursue this niche, just wanted to take advantage of the content so it wont go to waste. Thanks for the advice

If you retired the domain - the links were bad so EZA removed them - that's my guess. The articles have not 'gone to waste' - they were used.



When working a 'job' you have a boss or supervisor or a list of exactly what your duties are in that job. When you work online - you determine your 'duties' and it is easy to feel very 'busy' yet be doing nothing worthwhile.



To me - this is an example. You could spend days combining and etc these 100 articles from 10 yrs ago....and you would end up with previously published content in a niche you no longer work in....articles written for a site that no longer exists. IMO - there are no $$$ in that approach.


Time would be better spent on a plan for the site/niche/idea you plan to pursue NOW. Just my opinion but giving you a different way to look at the 'potential'.

I agree with Kay's post above. Stop trying to pick up where you left off and use what you know to build something current.
