New here.. Q on Duplicate Content.

I am fine tooth combing over my sites wording, keywords and everything in between.

I have realised that I may have made 'duplicate content' on my own site, but unsure what constitutes as duplicate.

On each listing, at the bottom of the page I have repeated the content, it talks about what type of files you can upload, general info about products that all sit in the same category etc. But this info is the same on maybe 15 products, would I be best to change the info up a bit, or would google only class it as duplicate if it was on another domain?

Because there are some key keywords in there too, but maybe that makes my pages / products fight against each other?

Any help appreciated.

If it was on another domain, it would not be duplicate content.

Question: Why do you have it on 15 pages? Do you need it? I mean, does it make it easier for your clients to do business with you?

How much of the page is the same content across 15 pages?

If a lot, Google will choose only one page to show for a query in SERPs. If not a lot, don't worry.

But, the main thing, does it help you and your buyers do business with each other. If yes, leave it be... If you're really concerned, re-write.

We have a block of content that is exactly the same on every single product page - the "Why Buy From Us" section. That's just part of each product's page. They also have unique information about each particular product, the title tags are different, the meta descriptions are different, the H1s are different.

In other words, they are not "duplicate" content pages. They are all unique and have some things that are similar, much like all humans have a heart and brain (some have a little more or less of both) but we are not all the same.

If having ANYTHING identical was something that would hurt your rankings, you would need a different kind of Add to Cart button on every page, a different header and footer on every page, different sidebars, different trust seals, etc.
