Image alt attributes for headshots/portraits

I'm trying to optimize my site's images for SEO. The staff directory page has a headshot (neck up only) of each employee. How would you describe these kinds of images as an alt text? There seems to be no info on best practice for professional headshots/portraits. They aren't decorative so you wouldn't leave them blank. "Headshot of CEO Jane Doe" seems redundant, as her name/title would be in the text next to the photo. The last recommendation I saw suggested a physical description of the person in the photo, which I think would be reductive and possibly insulting from a professional site.

I cannot think of a conceivable reason why SEO would matter for headshots of people on a company website. I'd make the ALT their name.
