Taking screen shots from youtube vids

I feel the answer if obvious - but i want to ask anyway.

I took a video on youtube of a professional athlete competing in an international competition and took a few screenshots of him, to point out what he does so others can try to emulate to help them improve.

I included the video on my blog, and explained i took them pics from the video.

I understand this perhaps isn't morally correct, but is there rules against it?

I do intend to take pics of myself performing and display them on my blog, but for now i used a professional from a vid...

are there rules against this?

Thanks

You know the answer - you just don't like the answer.

Sites pay big bucks for the rights to show athletes/celebrities photos....no, you cannot just take what you want and use it on your site.

Well, I guess you CAN but you may receive a huge bill for copyright violations - could have your site taken down, etc....

Do it now. It's not 'rules' - there are LAWS that apply.
