    Hi,

yes for two reasons they help you to neatly segment your different topics and they are still useful for SEO.

As your site will be better organised it will be a better experience for your visitors and they are likely to stay on your site longer and come back.

You can begin by making the pillar then link all of your other posts to the pillar.

It helps with SEO because Google can tell what your website is about.

Rather than being a "mish mash" of different pages it will be able to identify a certain theme from your website and it will rank higher than a website that has no pillar pages.

    Hope this helps.

This isn't even a 2020 thing.. this is a good practice PERIOD.

If you have a pillar page for say Ford trucks, you then have a branch for the F150, and then from that page ( the F150 page ) you branch to 2x2 and sub models and 4x4 and sub models. You then replicate the links from the main pillar page for F250,and 350, and 450 etc.

    FORD TRUCKS

    F150
    XL
    2WD
    4WD
    XLT
    2WD
    4WD
    Lariat
    King Ranch
    FX4
    Platinum
    Limited
    Raptor

    F250
    XL
    2WD
    4WD
    XLT
    2WD
    4WD
    Lariat
    King Ranch
    Platinum
    Limited

    F350 Etc

This creates "depth" or distance from the home page, and this is something that indicates an amount of authority. This also helps you reach long tail terms without stretching to do so. On the user side a break down like above is good for navigation etc.

So its not just SEO - its simply a good practice in general for the end user and the SEO.

When I go to popular blogs I certainly take notes. And many are not shy about their About pages....some are long as a blog posts, some even have links to a sales page but it came off as being very helpful not salesy.

Resources pages, Start Here pages, My Products pages, Shop, Free Stuff etc all set you up for a click that may pay you.
