A lot of people here have built their own sites for free. You will still need hosting, while free hosting companies exists, you are better off with paid hosting. Go to youtube and type in how to make a Wordpress site and watch the videos. Than create a basic WordPress site. You want the .org version not the .com version

Here is the link https://wordpress.org/ go with basic free theme to start.

Also on Youtube, they will tell you where to get everything you need to get up and running. Hosting, free themes, free plugins etc.

I think site.google.com is the best solution for the beginner.

You'll still need hosting. If you have a domain, just change the nameservers to point to a hosting company like Hostgator where you can find coupons to get your hosting for 1cent for like the first month or so. Install Wordpress (and if you're really hard on funds, there are lots of free themes you can use PLUS watch/search Youtube videos on how to actually build a Wordpress website by yourself) and make some money with the website and use that to invest in your next month of hosting.

Free hosting usually has spammy ads all over it.
If you are serious about your online business you
will spend a few dollars to cover your expenses.

Agreed, Google Sites might be a good option if you have no money for hosting. Google claims it doesn't rank Google Sites higher on SERPs but I've seen evidence to the contrary. If anything, you can take advantage of the higher domain authority.

Install Wordpress and download the Elementor plug-in if you don't want to pay for something like ClickFunnels

This is a great example of why free is never free. You can try to go the low-cost route, but there will be other trade-offs along the way that will irritate you.

Several years ago, I registered a domain from GoDaddy because I thought it was cheap. The amount of hassle I dealt with trying to set up the site was immense. Seriously, do yourself a favor and pay for quality.

Plus, depending on what host you use, you can just install Wordpress with one-click and the site will be ready to go.

I have yet to meet a online marketer that is earning a decent income that has a free domain, hosting etc.

Over the years I have seen the question on this forum many times and have yet to see those same people return to the forum with a success story.

    Makes you wonder?

Go to YouTube and watch reviews of free website builders - there are lots. You will be able to get upgrades on the basic packages to give more functionality if you need it. After that you will probably still need a domain name and web hosting. Still good value if you put the time in.

It's very much possible to build your own website from scratch and for free. This is a SKILL that you will want to master at the beginning journey of affiliate marketing. I don't know how long it will take you to learn this skill but you can do it if you stick with it because nothing will be as smooth as you want and it will take some time to master.

There are companies that you can get free hosting, but normally it is loaded with adverts.

It is better to pay for web hosting.

When hosting is set up, just install Wordpress and create your pages.

This will give you a much better reputation with potential customers, and you can control what is displayed on your site.

There are plenty of hosts out there that will charge you less than $5.00 a month for decent hosting. It's better than going the free route. Nobody will take you seriously with free hosting if you are running a business. But it's perfectly okay for a hobby site. If you do a search for free hosting you'll find plenty with site builders.

Don't make the mistake and go too cheap.

Invest in your own domain and hosting. Use Wordpress or some other cms to start and write your own content.

The best part of Wordpress is the free plugins you can get that help you with basically everything.

If you do go with WordPress, I recommend that you also install a plugin like WordFence to help keep your site secure.

I installed it and did not have any problems with my site since.

You definitely need a hosting to get started. But the free websites can be made by Wix.com or even wordpress.com
