Questions about a WordPress website.

I want to set up a WordPress website to I can run ads that will lead to my website. But my question is what do I use on Wordpress. They have several options like Personal, and Premium for blogs and personal sites. But they also have another tab that says Business sites and online stores? Which one would fit better for what I am trying to do. Basically what I'm trying to do is monetize my site. But i got confused and need a little help. Thanks in advance!!!

As you have planned to run ads in your WordPress site, that means you want to earn money online. Then start a premium blog.

Sounds like you're referring to the services on the Wordpress.com site. If your plan is monetization, forget that option - there are too many restrictions. Instead, go to wordpress.org and download the software from there. You'll need to arrange your own hosting, but you'll be able to do pretty much what you want with the site.

Alternatively, you could go straight to a hosting company of your choice and use their inbuilt facility to create a basic WordPress site which you can then adapt for your needs. Most hosts offer this service.

The main point is - don't use wordpress.com.

I agree with Mr. Donovan I would first look for free or cheap hosting and go with a hosting company that uses cpanel. Usually it is a one click installation for wordpress. Then you can create ads on your site.

Yeah, definitely get your own cheap hosting and install Wordpress in a Cpanel hosting account. From there, there are multiple ways you can monetize your content on a Wordpress website. Firstly a blog like what others above have mentioned with Google Adsense OR my preference, if your sole purpose is to make money, build one of those '30 interesting things about xxx' type websites where people have to flip through multiple pages of interesting content and while doing so they view your mixture of Taboola type ads and Google AdSense ads.

It looks like you want to use Wordpress.com to send traffic and/or backlink to your website. If this is the case, you can use the Personal. There is no need to pay for a subdomain that you don't have full control.
