Hey, new to all this. Little confused. After a purchase has been made on a product how would I get the customers details such as email so I can create an account for them on the backend of my product?

Thanks

Well, a simple way would be to put a form in your order box, maybe for tracking, or for confirmation of shipping/delivery.

How are they buying the product?

What product are you selling where you don't need to collect any customer info? As stated if it's a physical product, you'll need to know where to deliver it and it's a best practice to also collect an email address there so you can send a receipt or confirmation of some sort.

If it's a digital product, you should be collecting an email address so that even if you redirect the customer to a download link after purchase, they can return to that link later on by finding it in their email. This would also reduce the amount of customer service you'd have to take care of.

You might find it easier to use a platform like Woocommerce. That's assuming you have Wordpress. It's free and easy to setup. Almost everything is done automatically. Can't speak for platforms like Shopify (which is not free), but I assume it has similar options and safeguards.

You should be able to get their before or after the backend offer with an integrated lead generation system.
One that is specifically designed for e-commerce solutions.

    Hope this helps?

If you sold a digital product say a software, ebook or video using jvzoo. You can integrate it with your email marketing software such as getresponse. You simply add the API and create a list. So when you get buyers they are automatically added in.

I am presently using it but I am a bit unsatisfied about the ommission of some emails. When I contacted getresponse they said something about it being harmful to their system etc.

Another thing that happens is, the API only picks the email from the order form so I can't personalize it. I don't like that.

So what I do is simply create a form on the thank you page where they simply add their name and email to get access to the product, those details then enter my email list from there. I have found out this works for every kind of product sold out there.

You ask before not after the purchase of product and you can use shopify or woocommerce to make it simple for you. To be frank you must use one of them as you are new to this.
