4-6 month goal: SEO newbie-->top 3 pgs of Google a realistic goal?

8 replies
Is 6 months or less a realistic goal for your average NON-IT-expert newbie like myself to go from ground zero to getting within the first 3 pages of search results for a small educational website+podcast within 4-6 months if I'm going balls-to-the-wall dedicating all of my available time (3-5 hours/day EVERY day) to learning and implementing everything?

Sorry if this is a relatively dumb question, I'm just trying to find out if I have enough time to even get started with this at this point in my life.

    Depending on the level of competition with your competitors, but it's possible, good luck to you!

    it counts on various factors;
    1. your competitors: if you have a less number of online competitors, then obviously it would be less difficult for your website to rank against the keywords.
    2. SEO Strategy: Target the right audience with the right strategy and lets see what happens ahead.
    3. Search Volume: Sometimes, you have no one competing you in your niche, but still it becomes difficult to rank high in the Google index. If your niche is unique enough then there will be a relatively low search volume of your website means that a very few audience will search for your website.

    It all depends on the degree of competition and what methods and tools you use. If you will apply relevant tactics and have a good budget, then this is a completely realistic goal.

      When you say good budget, what kind of minimum budget would I need? I'm on disability, so very little. Maybe $50-100/mo(?) max

    The first thing you should focus on is producing valuable content that gets engagement. The longer people stay on your website or podcast the lower your bouncerates will and that would indicate to Google that people are taking interest. Content updating and website speed is important as well but make sure you prioritize quality content production..

      That's good to know! I'm glad because I value quality over most other things anyway, and I think I got something of real value to offer.
