Affiliate Marketing Business Model.

Hi dear friends,
I'm about to start hustling online and I have a question as a beginner.
I want to start an Affiliate marketing business, so is it still worth it in 2020 and years to come ?
Does it have a good profit margin now and in the next 4 years ? Is it a complicated business that is not for beginners? (i'm not 100% beginner, it's been Four months now that I have started discovering the online world, so I know some basics).
My plan is to start Affiliate Marketing with a Youtube Channel that provide good content (Youtube affiliate marketing), is it a good move or there is better strategies ?
The answers of those questions will help me a lot, help me save time, money and energy!
I really appreciate your help and advices !
Thank you.

It is worth it in 2020; probably will be in 2024 but I do not read the future.

The profit margin depends on you; it can be very good.

It is not complicated; it is hard, though.

Youtube marketing is one of the many good ways to go. The devil's in the details.

Look for Addams' free guide to make money with youtube in the warroom forum here (Tom's Newbie Guide Issue #1 : PPL Money - [2017] [AUG] [Content]). It will take you far. (You have to be a warroom member to see it.)

It is a step-by-step to one way of doing it. Some of the programs he mentioned closed, but you can find replacements.

PS despite what others wrote, affiliate marketing is not the best; selling your own products is.

    Hey,
it's only as complicated as you make it. What I mean with this is that for example myself I struggled very hard for almost over two years with it.. I always spent money on all kinds of products within the make money online/ affiliate marketing niche..

I tried one course- saw no immediate positive result and switched to the next thing etc etc.

I lost over $3000 doing that and earned exactly $0 that time because I always thought there must be something easier, something better..

I'm telling you this to give you the cold hard truth of how most people (I know that I'm not the only one) are when they start with affiliate marketing for the first time.

The minority of people who start with it are successful right from the beginning. They struggle, they fail completely. Sometimes they give up, sometimes they learn and keep moving.

I guess I can proudly say to myself I learned..

Therefore here is my advice and please take it as serious as possible:

As long as you don't overcomplicate it you can and will succeed.

My mentor teaches the power of one. Which means you need to focus especially when you are starting out on one product which leads to a promising sales funnel - one traffic strategy - one way to capture and follow up with your leads.

Keep it as simple as possible, focus all your attention to it, never get distracted from anything else and keep learning and doing these one things over and over even though you don't see immediate results.

In your situation it means: yes youtube affiliate marketing with nice content is a great strategy - when you decide to do it - don't try to be an instagram and facebook and twitter power influencer at the same time - master youtube until you crush it and then you can think about discovering other ways and additional strategies :-)

    Hope that helps

That helps me a lot my friend !
In my situation, i can create good content on youtube that attract potential client.
My only issue is that i need to generate some money just to feed my business needs and my needs also (400$/months maximum in total), while leading my business to succes.
In your opinion, how much months my business need to start generating this small amount of money to help me keep pushing the wheel forward ?
      Hope my question was clear.

        Hope my question was clear.

I can not give you an answer to this question because it depends on too many things.
First of all it depends on the product/service you are offering.
Personally I like to promote products/programs that can lead to commissions of $1000 or more per single customer.

If you would promote such an high ticket offer you would only need one sale/ one good customer per month to reach your goal.

However if you are promoting something for $30 without a sales funnel you would need to sell at least 13 of this per month.

The irony is that the effort to sell a low ticket item and an high ticket item is almost the same because in both cases you need to be able to attract customers who want to buy from you.

In the second scenario you would need 13 of these which can be very hard but also achievable depending on your traffic strategy which is youtube in your case - how many visitors can you attract through this process and how convincing are your videos? - will people like you and your content or not? will you help them to solve a problem or not?

When you are starting a complete new yt channel you probably know that you most likely will not get any views at all in the beginning if you are not good at keywords/ and driving traffic manually.

Therefore sorry that I can not give you a time frame it really depends on yourself (do you have discipline?), your work ethic, your product and your marketing skills.

You can be lucky and get everything right from the beginning and easily reach your goal within the first month but most of the time newbies need way more to get some traction.

          You're answer is complete !
It depends on the person. Not defining a frame time is the right answer.
You helped me a lot with this explication, i know now what is the next step.
          T.h.a.n.k you my friend !

Affiliate Marketing is the best and easiest way to make money online. I would recommend having multiple free traffic strategies (blog, YouTube, social media) as well as multiple paid traffic strategies (solo ads, google ads, FB ads). A YouTube channel is definitely a good place to start. You will need the right mindset. Be patient and consistent with your efforts. I'd highly recommend getting a mentor and joining a support community specific to your niche. There are high-quality training, support, and mentors available for free if you know where to look.

    Good luck and much success

Can you please read my posts before, I just told him to not over complicate it and you tell him to have multiple strategies lol
To try and learn them all at once was one of the main reasons why I failed to make anything work for a long time..

Let him learn one thing at a time and be perfect at one until he discovers the next strategy. Especially when we are talking about paid ads, you can and should absolutely not do google ads AND fb ads.
However I highly agree with getting a mentor

Affiliate marketing is the easiest way of starting out. One of my very first income streams was a youtube channel where I simply did pro and contra on certaing amazon products. First I've read the reviews and based on that recorded a video.

And it is much easier to sell a proven product then figuring our what to create or source if it is ecom.

    Hi Zac,

I am new to affiliate marketing and so far what I've learned is to know what your prospect is. What product to promote that will solve a problem for your target? Who do you want to reach? what problem do you want to solve?

When you figure all these out, then you can choose the right product and right traffic source to start your journey.

    I hope it makes sense.

Affiliate marketing is the way to go when you're just starting out. It has been here for some time and will be around for a long time.

As long as there are products created owners of these products will want you to promote them.

Affiliate marketing is the most basic way to get started because it teaches you the fundamentals of making money online. You learn about traffic generation and how to covert that traffic.

When you break every business down that's basically how they operate at the core. You send people to your offer and you convert them.

You should definitely start your affiliate marketing journey sooner rather than later.

I wish you nothing, but success.

Stick with one social media platform. Focus on one product. Keep a laser sharp focus. You don't want to spread yourself thin across too many platforms. Stick with your Youtube channel until it starts getting traction before you expand to other platforms

I think you should pursue YouTube - video is of the moment. More and more content is being consumed via video - why read, when you can watch!
Affiliate marketing is good, but the best route is to create your own products.
    Good luck

We all have a different experience.

I would say having your own affiliates is the way to go. You get paid instantly.

You have an army working for you in your sleep and it snowballs into partnerships, joint ventures, and even new businesses.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[11636220].message }}
  • I agree with most of the info stated above. Also, once you get to around 10k a month revenue, you start to get noticed by other people looking for joint ventures, investing purchasing etc, lots more opportunity.

Affiliate marketing can really be worth your time for a full time income. As others have stated though, it isn't easy at all at first. You can have the nicest site to promote your products, but if you don't have traffic, you won't make any money. There are a variety of ways to get traffic. It all just depends on what you want to do.

Affiliate marketing is one of the good ways to earn passive income. Making videos is definitely a good channel to get traffics for your affiliated products, but it's just very competitive for good videos out there. So, I think beside choosing a niche product and build good video content, video quality is as important as it is, so your ideas are delivered.

I don't believe Affiliate Marketing will ever die. You're basically a salesman, and I don't think in the history of ever have salesman become obsolete.

Not to say there aren't ups and downs, like everything (know from experience), but everything usually comes full circle.

Your idea of a YouTube channel will work and as others mentioned, so long as you get the traffic, you'll be fine. Most importantly on a YouTube channel, you are putting a face(building trust) with your audience while you are promoting something. How you do it is up to you, but I already believe that in itself, the TRUST, you've already got a winning formula. Keep us posted! We're all eager to learn how well you do!

Hey Zac, YouTube is a great place to start as long as you don't have any issues being in front of the camera. YT should indeed be one of your main traffic sources and in time will give you authority as an affiliate, as long as you're providing value.

Another traffic source is going to be owning another authority, a blog. Like YouTube, your blog will take time to develop but once it has built a decent reputation in the search engines and you have a good readership, then you'll in theory start making a passive income.

Also, depending on your budget, do some research on paid ads like Facebook and solo ads. I hope this helps.

Affiliate Marketing is a highly profitable business model, but it's only profitable if you put

the work in. I'm seeing a lot of answers on this thread, that are saying how easy it is to

make money from it. Which in a way is true. It is easier than most business models

online. However, there is a lot of work that goes into actually getting it started before you

    make a single dime.

I know from 5 years in affiliate marketing, that it always feels like an uphill battle at first,

but when you finally start to see income coming in, it can be a very rewarding feeling.

This beginning process of getting an affiliate business going, can be very nerve wracking

    and confusing for beginners.

There is so much to learn and understanding the process of putting all of the tools

    together can be daunting.

The best advice I can give to is to keep yourself in the right frame of mind and don't

give up. Soak up all the knowledge you can about this business, but don't overwhelm

yourself as you will never get anything done by taking up to many projects at once.

Stay focused and positive, keeping this mindset is crucial to your success.

Good luck and May The Force Be With You.

Youtube its a very good way to make money but its not easy as you have a lot of competition .To get the succes you need you must be consistent on your work and never give up ,to build a great channel you need a lot of patience ,know some basic seo and create good videos .Unfortunately many people give up on their channels when its too hard ,just a step ahead was the succes but the pain was so big and they quit

The Affiliate marketing model was, is and always will be a great model. You just need to make sure that you are doing one of two things:

    1. Marketing a product with a commission structure that does not leave you broke after marketing expenses.

    2. Host your own product and focus on finding affiliates to promote that product for you.

In my opinion is affiliate marketing best way to start online journey. You can get high commissions fast... just focus on the basic...provide value, build your brand, get traffic & convert it into sales.

It doesn't matter what you do, always focus on the basic.

But in the my opinion is the best marketing network marketing. on longterm it can give you real passive income and huge numbers. And the best thing is you don't need to sell stuff over and over again.

It is very possible to make a good living and even a steady income from affiliate marketing. However, it does take work. If you are going into this thinking you will become a millionaire overnight, you will fail. This is a misconception and will make you "give up" on being successful by it not happening overnight if you believe in that. If you keep your expectations and timeframe realistic, you will have more success in making money as an affiliate marketer.
Creating a youtube channel is a great way to make money with Affiliate MArketing. As long as, you have great content. Your videos must not only be informative but must also be very professional and appealing to the eye. Make sure you have a good camera and great lighting when making your videos. Speak clearly and professionally so people can understand you better.
Another good tip, is to pick a product that your can relate to. This will make it easier for you to share and promote the product.
Good luck with your journey in the Affiliate Marketing world!
