Hi Internet Marketers

Hello my name is Tanner.

Similar to other newer members, I have been sitting on the sidelines of doing business on the internet for many years, and am now looking to make a move.

I first got into online businesses in 2014 when I subscribed to a dropshipping guru. I learned a ton from him, yet I never found a great product to sell. Eventually, I saw the Amazon behemoth as a huge threat and decided to forget the dropshipping model. Now, 7 years later, I realize what a fool I was. I could have established an awesome brand with tons of SKUs over the last 7 years if I would have just not been afraid to start.

Now, as I look at different online businesses to start, the ecomm business is still daunting to me. It seems like it is very capital intensive, and you still have to find a great product to sell.

So I have come here to learn more about other types of online businesses, affiliate marketing, and the like.

In my initial scouring of the site, it seems that you have built an awesome community over many years with great content. I hope to add to that legacy here as I grow my own knowledge.

Cheers!

There is no shortage of good products to sell - but first you need to have direction - know what you want to sell - and who will sell it to.

Getting started will always be daunting for new marketers - we've all been there. Your choice is whether you dig in and do it or find reasons not to.

I strongly suggest you start with the thread linked below - that one thread gives you an idea of what people DO - in the real world of IM.

      Thank you for your response!

...know what you want to sell - and who will sell it to
This is soooo hard lol. I read a lot. I see over and over to "do what you love and are passionate about". or "<insert here> what you are passionate about" (Sell, Invest in, Find a career in, Work in, etc...)

I have 2 problems with this:
      1) I don't want to ruin said thing that I love. If I make a job out of dealing with it daily, dealing with customers' problems with it, etc, I will lose my passion for it.

      2) When I look at my life, I am not just really passionate about any one thing. I tend to pick up new things all of the time and then get bored and move on to the next thing (hobby, learning some new skill, etc.)

Do you have any advice for that?

This Thread is awesome! Thank you for sharing. I am about halfway thru the thread, with a couple hour detour into the eBay $250 challenge thread. Already so many questions, but I will keep reading to see if they are answered first.

I'm sure I could scour your 25k+ posts (that's alot of posts!) to find out what it is that you do, but instead I would like to ask you:

If you were to start something today what would it be? Doesn't have to be something that you are even an expert at, more, where do you see opportunity that given your current knowledge, but with the energy level of a version of you in 2004 (when you became a WF member) you would want to start today?

    Hi Tanner

Welcome to the group, I am also new here and I have found members most willing to share their experience and knowledge.

I agree with Kay, the opportunities are endless. The tricky part is not becoming distracted and moving from one business model to the next. As far as possible stay focused and work on one thing at a time.

  • I think you should just start with one and become successful before thinking of joining another business.

Every business is a rollercoaster... The beginning is not gonna be easy but you just gotta keep pushing

    Welcome among us!

I can say it's not gonna be easy, but it will be worth it for sure.

When I started my online in 2018 journey i jumped from product to product...i though it was problem the product.

Last year I realised some people are successful in particular business and some are not. The same business and different results. So the difference is in the people(mindset)

My advice to you is that you focus niche that you love. Commit to that particular thing and be consistent. Choose something that you love to do & in what you 100% believe in.

It's simpler to say than do.

    Wish you all the best

      Thank you for the encouragement.

Were you able to find that which you love 100% and apply your new (last year) mindset to it?
