How can we target Windows only traffic on Google Display ad network?

Hi,

I am facing difficulties in buying Windows only traffic for my Google display campaigns. I understand that Google ads network does not provide the option to target OS for desktop traffic, so I have tried to gather the non-windows users on GA and exclude this audience list on my campaign.
However, it is not helping in simulating the campaign to buy more desktop windows users.

I am running on eCPC and Manual CPC bidding strategies for my display campaigns.
Does anyone has any other suggestion that I can try?

Unless you are selling some sort of app or software that only works on the Windows platform, I cannot fathom why you would only want Windows traffic.

Of course, I also cannot believe that someone would create an app or software these days that only works in Windows. I know myself, my brothers and several of our staff wouldn't ever buy it because we only use Macs.

      Hi dave, appreciate your sharing.
But yes, the product which I am marketing only works on Windows desktop and I have ran out of ideas on how to "target" or trigger Google algorithm to buy more Windows.

I am limited to only eCPC / Manual CPC bidding strategy because I need to have very strict control over my bids and these non-smart bidding strategies do not help. I notice that the non-windows users audience list which I have collected and excluded on the display campaign have helped a bit but I need the algorithm to learn faster.

Do your keywords all have the word "Windows" in them? Does your ad make it clear that it is only for Windows?

If so, I can't imagine you are getting a whole lot of wasteful clicks from Linux and Mac users.
