Before I start my website, Corp tutorial guidance

I have a domain, yet I want to cover all my bases along with it. Does anyone have any recommendations on corporation startups for a solo owner no employees and products for sale.

I want to find a good tutorial on where to start and what's the best, llc, scorp, other options etc. And pricing. Ive seen certain prices on legalzoom but if I get the forms on my own and do it it's half the cost correct?

  • Skip the corp and all such, make money first.

Once you make a sale or two, start thinking about incorporating yourself. Most state's websites, if not all, have a simple enough online process. Yes, it costs less if you do it yourself.

Stop thinking about covering all your bases before you do anything. First do something that makes you money, then worry about all the possible ways things can improve or go bad.

  • I agree with this.

However, when you are ready to form an entity, I would highly recommend seeking the advice of an attorney well versed in business formation. Yes you could save some money on the front end by using something like legalzoom, but in my experience, that will just cost you more down the road.
  • Thank you for all of the replies.

  • I have been developing websites
for 20+ years. Hundreds of them.
My advice to you is to start working
on your site. As others have stated,
once you get traffic and you begin to
    generate income from your website,
you will have plenty of time to do all
those activities that you are asking
    about.

There is plenty of info online and
you can always read a book about
incorporating, but for now just get
    started developing your site.

    Good luck to you!!!
  • Question. Is there a personal legal liability risk without an llc, scorp etc?
