Wordpress Blog Or A Facebook Page

Hello fellow marketers, I am starting my journey as an internet marketer and I have created a fb page. I intend to use this page as a medium to provide latest news, trends, promote digital products etc. But for quite sometime I have been thinking to start a blog as a primary mode of communication and use fb page to promote the blog. But I have few questions :

1) Is it a good idea to use fb page as primary mode of communication? I can collect leads by using a landing page and then send the followers weekly newsletter.

2) Should I start a blog and then promote it using fb page?

3) For blog is it a good idea to hire a freelancer? Can you provide any leads/references.

Have you decided what to promote? If so, what criteria did you use? How do you intend to get your product(s) in front of enough prospects?

Your market will suggest the best platform to start with.

You do not own facebook, so you do not control what they'll do in the future.

You control your website, what content you put in, what marketing you will allow for it.

This should also factor in your thinking.

    Also, why not 'and?'

    Why either/or?

Will you not reach more people having two platforms?

    Hi Jayant

Collecting email addresses via a blog or a landing page is a good idea, don't rely solely on Facebook lists.

If you are planning a blog you can hire really good developers on Upwork of Fiverr (look at their reviews when choosing). You can also do it yourself.

FB page will limit your functionality in many areas, Wordpress is for better control. You should start a blog and then start promoting on FB. I am running my own website and making some money off of it. Its much better to make blog as it will be your brand in long-term. [moderator note: please do not solicit PMs or personal contact]

Good to know you've created a Facebook page for your internet marketing business! However, you need to create a business blog that will serve as the primary channel of communication. Businesses with blogs get more traffic than those without a blog. So, if you really want to be greatly successful online, you need a business blog. And that should be a WordPress blog.

yes it would be a good idea.

    2) Should I start a blog and then promote it using fb page?

Those 2 should work hand in hand so having both is way better

    3) For blog is it a good idea to hire a freelancer? Can you provide any leads/references.

If you have the luxury of time, better for you to do it but if you are pretty tied up, perhaps acquiring a VA or a Virtual Assistant would be good

Do both. Start with a blog, then lead your visitors to your Facebook page.
