    "Remarketing" is a word that is often misused and quite often, people are referring to "retargetting" when they use the word.

    Remarketing is trying to sell to people who are already customers - people who have already done business with your company - and it is primarily done through email. It is particularly effective for companies that sell consumable products or that have related products that go with other products that a customer has already purchased.

    Retargeting is usually done with paid ads that target people who have visited your website but did not buy. You know, the ads that follow you around the internet after visiting a website. It can be a relatively low-cost way of giving people who have already expressed interest in your products a nudge.
