Hi All,

I am about to send cold emails to some beauty & skin oriented journalists to hopefully get them to pick up our products and give them some prime time on their platforms.

This is a pretty big deal for obvious reasons, and I would like some tips and advise on what to do and what not to do. It would also be nice for those who have pitched to journalists previously whether they have any additional advise when dealing with or pitching to them.

You know, you can contact journalists in LinkedIn?

Better yet, you can interact with them before sending them an email. Case in which your email is not cold.

But if you insist on cold emailing:
Depending on how good your subject line is, 0-40 will open your email.

And I am assuming it does not get into their spam folder. In that case 0-0 will read it.

So, I suggest a subject line that kills.
A message sent from a source like server which, however, let's you import emails from people who did not ask to he emailed.

As to the body, get fast to what's in it for them. And it better be something they want.

And keep your paragraphs to 2or 3 lines.

Don't those types expect complimentary products?

Your email should probably ask for their mailing address.

DABK's advice is good. A good subject line I have had success with is "Apologies in Advance" Use something short and simple that arouses curiosity.
