I'm confused about Aweber

Hello,

Was told by Aweber that I had to use my personal email instead of my .com address for a lead magnet. A weber said I had to use my personal email to contact a prospective email to offer a lead magnet of a pdf download to opt in.

Is this correct?

Please advise and thanks in advance!

Were you told you must use 'your personal email'.....or 'A personal email'? Perhaps that is the question to ask.

Why can't you create a gmail acct to use for that particular list?

    Is this correct?

Suppose someone says 'no, you don't have to do that' or 'they can't make you do that'.....and you tell AWeber "someone on a forum said I don't have to"......do you think that would work? Probably not.

I gotcha, just looking for clarification.

If I created a lead magnet in Aweber and sent the pdf lead magnet to a cold email...is that the correct protocol?

Not going to throw anyone under the bus. Thanks in advance!

Was using my personal gmail to send lead gen of my pdf offer to my website''s landing page. I assumed that gmail is safe when it comes to deliverability. My website landing page is set up through SIB.
My email does have my logo and link to my webite. Could this cause an issue with going to the junk folder?

      Thx Ms Kay!

So, you aren't going to use Aweber in the manner it's intended to be used? I can understand your confusion because now I'm confused. Why would you send this stuff with your Gmail account when you have Aweber to send with?

      Hey Mark,
I'm selling coaching digital products. I offer 2 free basketball plays for a lead magnet.
I have a website with a landing page and able to contact my list directly.
Beginning stages with testing Aweber and Send in Blue.
Also have a funnel ready after they opt in.
      Thanks!

    1. Normally you have an optin page or box where people sign up for your lead magnet.

    2. They optin. Aweber gets their email and name or whatever else you capture on the form.

    3. Aweber then sends the first email. Sometimes the first email is to confirm the optin. If there is no confirmation email, they send the first email in your sequence.

    4. That first email (after confirmation email if any) gives whatever is promised. For example, if it's a report with basketball plays this is normally a PDF stored on Amazon S3, your website, or some where it can be downloaded. So, there is a link to the PDF or audio or whatever it is.

    5. The prospect downloads the lead magnet.

    6. The next day or whenever you've set it up, they get the second email.

Is this what you want to do?

My emails (the from address) come from my .com account. Aweber does allow this.

What do you mean you can contact your list directly? You mean outside of Aweber or what?

      Wow!
Firstly, a huge THANK YOU! I am so close and really appreciate the advice!

1 - 6 YES! Exactly what you stated I am wanting to accomplish.
Yes, then they get a 3 day email with a 4 day pitch after the opt in.

I have a list of high school and middle school coaches from my niche.

Both, I can contact them directly from my personal gmail but have not tried with Aweber.
I have tried with send in blue but went to the junk folder.

I Believe using your actual email would actually better than using a private domain for it'll help prevent landing in your recipient's spam/ junk folder

If I used my Gmail I would not be able to use the funnel, correct?
Seems like I'm defeating the purpose of not using a autoresponder.....hmmm

What would be the purpose of direct contact (outside your email series)? Buy my stuff? Why not just include that in the autoresponder?

Most things I buy online, I buy from the email series. Why do you need to contact people besides the email series?

If you are selling something that is $20,000 or something like that, maybe personal contact is needed. Otherwise, why not just do it all through Aweber?

You are looking for what doesn't work instead of how to make something work...

    https://www.aweber.com/integrations/other/gmail/

Vito - Do yourself (and us) a favor....put your cursor over your forum name in the black toolbar - above right. In the dropdown you will see a gold 'box' that says 'view classic'....click that and change to the traditional forum view.

The modern view might work for 'feeds' but does not work well for discussion threads here.

    Vito,

I'm sorry, but I don't understand your question.

However, I use AWeber with a Gmail email address without a problem.

You should call AWeber on the phone. They have fantastic customer service.

I don't know that you can access all forum features from a phone. Can you log in on a computer to set your preferences?

      Ms Kay,
Are you an IM? Have a website, products, now entering into email marketing. I am working on the email process and want to make sure the process is correct. Would consider chasing the shiney object on email marketing to avoid huge mistakes?
      Suggestions?
      Thoughts?
