Scraping Gmaps for Directory Theme = Then What?

First time poster.

So if I use any of the available paid tools or even hire someone who's built their own python app; and import the GMB data into a WordPress directory theme, any suggestions on the best way to contact the business owners?

My plan is to list the businesses for free and offer a handful of upsells.

I've read that emails are generally ignored, cold calls are near impossible to get past the gatekeeper. Unless I can get some ideas and or opinions on feasibility, I beginning to feel like my idea is a solution chasing a problem.

Feedback from anyone who has success or failure with scraping for directory sites is appreciated.

Me personally... I would "walk in". what gets real interesting is you are only looking at about 1/3 of the total number of opportunities.... as in only about 1/3 of business' ( and that is being kind ) are listed on Gmaps.

If you are walking around.. door to door... within Gmaps you can edit listings, add listings, add photos etc.

Ok so how much exactly do you know about "Local Search" as in do you understand how it works? the holy grail as it were to Local search is a "citation" This would be a static listing of a business name, Address, and Phone number ( NAP is what this is called ) Not that anyone is interested in this - as in I wouldn't even bring this aspect up, BUT this is the gold.

If I was doing what you are thinking of doing... and I do... I would charge $20 a year for a listing that includes Name, Address, Phone, and web address. I would jump up to $30 to include social tags, and $40 for added listing features like menu etc

You should be able to sell this all day long. vs charging MORE at a monthly rate and not selling any at all.

Read this: ( https://pcgdigital.com/blog/google-m...s-vs-services/ ) create a simple document for each... and a business that has products had them the product sheet.. a business with services hand them the Service sheet. GIVE the potential customer something of value. "Hey I noticed you dont have any products listed on your gmaps listing. Here is a sheet that explains how you can add those. BTW I am building a local directory to help business' like yourself < hand them a simple price sheet > is this something you might be interested in. "

Take the money, add the listing and move on to the next one.

Once you get into the idea of a monthly charge... you are left trying to develop a value of your product... whats in it for them? and the reality is there is little to no value to the business to have a listing on a directory that no one will ever probably see ( Yes there is the NAP information, but THEY the business owner will 99 times out of 100 not even know or understand what that is ) - and thats just a reality - NOW, if you can get Google traction with your site and it were to start showing up within local search... that changes things... but until then... grab the $20 to $40 by providing an amount of value to the customer - IE the information to add to their Google Business Profile listing, and move on.
