Silo Structure for new website

Hey Everyone,

I did a search, but was still a little confused after reading some threads / watching some videos.

I am starting a blog site that will talk about weight training, nutrition, supplements, etc.

I'm in the middle of creating topic clusters, and trying to determine how to best create the silo structure.

For instance, let's say we are talking about the supplement section. My main pillar page will be an "essential guide to supplements."

I'm confused if the silo structure should be:

Main site - supplements - supplements articles (no matter what type of supplement it is)

Or

Main site - supplements - creatine - creatine article. (Then so on and so forth for each supplement I plan to write about)

There are obviously a ton of different supplements. I will be covering creatine, beta alanine, citrulline malate, nootropics, etc. I'm not sure if I should create a sub category for each supplement, then place each article under the specific supplement I'm covering, or if because they are all supplements, that I should just write all the articles under the main category of "supplements".

Any feedback is genuinely appreciated!

Thanks everyone

Read this: https://www.bruceclay.com/seo/silo/; it's really good. Then, implement.
