J added a few fresh lines of new content at the bottom of my website homepage and my keyword rankings and position suddenly got a massive drop overnight. Is there any way to recover from this?

The algorithm is always changing. Maybe you should run a site audit and update it .

  • Sometimes when I add new content to my website I see drops as well. Give it some time and see if things come back to normal.

I doubt that a single line of content can cause a massive drop overnight. Google is not that fast damn it.... It needs at least a few days to see changes

The fresh lines of new content you added at the bottom of your website homepage might not be the cause of your keyword rankings dropping overnight. You might be subject to a manual penalty by Google without knowing. First, log in to Google Search Console and find out if your site has been recently penalized by Google.
