Is Affiliate Marketing The Way To Go?

The popularity of affiliate marketing is growing quickly, with many people leaving their day jobs to focus on this type of work. But is affiliate marketing really the way to go?

We must first ask ourselves what exactly is affiliate marketing. Affiliate Marketing is a form of Internet advertising that allows bloggers and website owners to receive a commission for each product or service sold through one of their links. It can be very profitable, but it can also be time-consuming.

A blogger or website owner will create an account with an affiliate network, such as Clickbank, JVZoo, or Shareasale, then select which products or services they would like to promote on their site. Once the advertiser has created an account with the affiliate network, a unique tracking link, called a "tag", is generated for each product or service. This link will contain the advertiser's special tracking code that allows the network to track and monitor all sales generated through the advertisement. The tracking link is then placed on the blog or website in order to track visitors who click on it and make a purchase at the advertiser's online store.

If someone buys something through your link, you get paid! But how much? This depends on which company you are using and how much you have sold. Sometimes you can get up to 100% commissions promoting products you didn't have to create, deal with customer service, process transactions or refunds. Affiliate marketing is an opportunity that is both affordable and accessible to anyone. Whether you are a blogger or belong to any other industry, it's easy to use affiliate marketing as a tool for your business.

You can earn money while you sleep, for a while. Then things change and you have to put in work to keep up. If you're smart, you put in work all along, to be ahead of the changes.

I think the issue is the definition of passive income: it is earnings from rental properties, limited partnerships and such where you are not actively involved (so, things where your money does the earning, not your work or time).

Like with any industry, affiliate marketing has good, bad and ugly players.
Affiliate marketers, as you say Matthew, sell someone else's product for a commission. You may choose to do low ticket (cheaper products requiring you to see more volume) or High Ticket (more expensive courses.

I must just refer to dcristo 's point below that affiliate marketing does not automatically mean 'passive' - daily work and consistency are required to interact on social media/forums, etc. necessary to drive traffic and even paid methods of advertising can require extensive testing and tweaking, so the 'passive' moniker is often misused.

    If you are willing to be;

    a) Patient
    b) Coachable - by people who really know what they are doing and have proven results.
    c) Flexible
    d) Willing to implement what you've learnt consistently

You can certainly succeed enormously in affiliate marketing!

Affiliate marketing can be profitable if the basics are done right. By the word 'basics' I mean the way the marketer advertises his or her affiliate product, the return on investment factor, the product he or she chooses to market and of course the time that is put into affiliate product promotion. These basics if done correctly can do a world of good to the marketer's future.

Not everyone can become affiliate marketer here every day techniques need to be applied to maintain that position. It's easy to start but once stepped into it, it becomes everyday challenging thing to making that position. Everywhere is a competition so here it is ....Ups and down goes on, need better skills and cool and calm personality to handle this platform. One has to be fully prepared for this platform as this platform has lots of pros and cons, for one it can be constant growth platform while for other may not be. It's an era of affiliate marketing. So, if one is thinking to grow through it then take proper guide and then step. One's strategy and skill depend to define this platform.

This is right that affiliate marketing is growing popular day by day, but it depends on you that how you can get benefits from it what strategy you choose, whatever you choose it need consistency in this business whether you rank your website through SEO or you can getting visitors via paid marketing.

First your website should be SEO optimized, secondly, your content must have the necessary information and you choose the right products from the right company. For e.g. high ticket products with low competition keywords.

Affiliate marketing is one way to go. However, the most important thing to do is build your audience. Build a social media following, an email list, or group of loyal followers. This is your tribe. By doing that you can promote any affiliate product or business model or product/service and make money successfully. Just my two cents.

I should also add in that affiliate marketing is a great way to get started online. It will teach you the basics of online marketing and list building. However, once you have those skills in place, which will take most people five to ten years, the real money online comes from having your own information products where you get the lion's share of each sale.

Exactly the ticket! Like anything, building a business requires patience, organisation and consistency.

Affiliate marketing, with the right opportunity, is a fantastic way of learning transferrable skills from people who have used the best techniques to achieve the results you want.

To me, affiliate marketing is the best way for beginnings to free themselves and open up opportunities they had never dreamed of!

It can be a great way to start but does also take time to get established and earning. To earn good amounts, you need plenty of conversions because the % paid to you when referring people to a product or service via the affiliate model is not high. Compare this to some Ecom models where you're taking the majority of the income yourself (less cost of goods and advertising etc)

It's a good way to start, specially if you don't have a proof of concept of a solution you can provide to the market. It takes out several points of complexity out of the equation because you are selling products or services that are tested and already being sold and you don't have to handle the delivery and other logistic issues, etcetera. It simplifies your entry into the online business world...But this is sometimes mistaken for "easy and quick money"

Affiliate Marketing defintely is a good place to start if you decide to try your hand at Internet Marketing .

Pros : No need to create a product which can be expensive
No Need to handle customer support

Cons: Like anything on the Internet ones needs to drive targeted traffic to the offer . Getting targeted traffic is the hardest part for most people . The reason vendors are willing to give you 50% or more commission is that it is not easy getting the right targetted traffic to your offer . It can be very costly and frustrating .

So while Affiliate marketing is a good place to start , remember one needs to put in work , a fair amount of work and / or money to get the right eyeballs to your offer .

The key thing you say here is the targeted traffic. That's very true. We launched a broad site a few years ago and got way too diluted traffic. The whole thing was a flop as none of it converted to affiliate commissions. Niche down and focus as much as possible on your ideal customer relevant to the affiliate offering you're doing. Very much like product selection, look for peoples problems, solve it via your affiliate offering and then target those people with the problem, to your site.

Affiliate marketing is a tool to make money. But it is not the vehicle. You still have to learn how to get traffic develop a base and attracted targeted audience. If you can do that you can sell your own products and have a mailing list and use affiliate marketing. It's a byproduct of good marketing it's not a magic way to get rich. You still have to learn a lot and gain some experience with internet marketing in general to get anywhere with it.

This!! as with everything else out-there, there is a set of skills that you need to develop and improve on before you can start earning that passive income , granted of course that those skills can be used elsewhere.
you also need to be consistent in your pursuit of that passive income, building and audience is not as easy as most people thinks, but it is also not impossible. Once you have built that audience, you have to continuously strive to keep up and adapt to it's ever changing needs, and the market is not stagnant as well; so you have to keep all this mind as you do your thing.
In the end though, if you choose the right niche for you then all this will come as second nature to you and will definitely not be near as anyone as hard as it sounds here

Affiliate marketing is a great way to profit. But before you start, you need to know what you can and can not do.
Here are the tips we shared when starting with an affiliate marketing business.
Don't quit your job right away
Do not let people demoralize you
Avoid putting all your money into this
    Don't oversee the profit numbers
Don't look for a shortcut to start your journey in affiliate marketing because there is no fast way to learn it
On the other hand, here are tips on what you can do if you want to make it in this industry:
Test landing pages, creatives, traffic sources, traffic types, bids, browsers, user targeting age, operating systems,...
Read - read blogs, forums, books, and everything related to your niche to get to know more about your work
Start slowly and work on fundamentals, be patient and prepare your knowledge base before you start

Be open to collaborations with people in this industry because it can help you grow. You can get data faster, and you might be better than that person in some aspect, the other might be faster in some, etc.

Start with highly trusted networks, so before joining a network, check forums or similar trusted platforms and groups in AM industry.

well its the way to go but this field its not easy and its not for everyone .Most people think that they can work 1 month and they can get a full time income and in this fact its not like that
It can pass months until you achieve 20$ or 30$ per day if you work consistently
And it can pass more than 1 year to achieve a constant 50$ or 100$ per day

Which btw isn't bad at all! 50-100$ a day in a year? Most people can live well with that (if they are not in the most expensive places of the world)...The problem is the expectations people have and the get rich quick mindset, but can you blame them? They get bombarded by messages like: "Watch me how I get an income of 6 figures a month in a couple of weeks and how can you do it too without doing anything"...After that 50-100$ a day in a year is peanuts!

But what came first, the clickbaits or the get rich mindset from the audience? The chicken or the egg?
