Here are my business ideas, which do you think is best, or do you have a different idea?

1. Finding products that could sell well on Etsy and buying them on DHgate
2. Finding products that could sell well on Etsy - Print on Demand.
3. Finding products that could sell on Amazon and dropshipping them from US suppliers
4. Become an account manager for businesses for their Pinterest accounts.
5. Facebook ads to local businesses to generate leads.
6. Listing freelancing service on a site where people will pay a lot for it, but then hire out the service from upwork.
7. Service using Zapier and other automation to make businesses more efficient

    In another thread you are asking how to choose products - so 1-3 is possible only after you go through a learning curve.

    4. Become an account manager for businesses for their Pinterest accounts.
    5. Facebook ads to local businesses to generate leads.
    Are you experienced in acct management for Pinterest - have you generated a significant amount of leads using FB ads?

    6. Listing freelancing service on a site where people will pay a lot for it, but then hire out the service from upwork.
    How would you GET people to 'a site' where you could charge more than well known and well advertised freelance sites? Why not become a freelancer yourself and get work FROM the big freelance sites?


    7. Service using Zapier and other automation to make businesses more efficient
    Zapier is targeted to end users - how would you insert your own 'side hustle' into the mix?

    You are asking very general questions but no one can really answer without knowing what YOU CAN DO.

    What have you done online? What tools/training do you have to use? Do you have sites/blogs or a history of lead generation, etc.
    How much time and money do you have to start a business - and what is your end goal?

      I guess more of what I meant was, assuming all else was equal, which would be the most likely to make money and require the least # of steps to get paid, and pay the most etc.
      All of these businesses would require a learning curve for me, which is why I'm asking, so that I can know which to spend time to learn.
      I've never used etsy but i have a lot of experience with dropshipping and aliexpress and finding ecom products. I've never used pinterest or been an account manager but i have access to a course that teaches it, as well as 1 on pinterest marketing.
      I have access to 2 extensive courses on local SMMA and a little experience doing it. I have done facebook marketing before but it didn't work. So i would have to learn more about it and do it for free for them to start it up.
      The "site" i was talking about was a higher end freelancing site like freelancer.com or something where people may pay more due to there being less service providers available to do the work.
      I'm confused how zapier is targeted to end users. That's not my knowledge of it at all. Businesses use it to automate. I have used zapier before, and my personality type is ENTP so i am genetically predispositioned to automate and make systems more efficient.
      I don't have a lot of time or money so looking for whatever would be easiest to set up and have the greatest chance of success and is most in demand by businesses, or in the case of amazon, if i could actually rank products high enough to get sales.

        You've never used Etsy, never used Pinterest, never been an account manager... you say you don't have a lot of time. Are you trying to supplement an existing income, or are you working towards a deadline? I ask because I don't see any of those options earning you anything without a lot of study time and trial and error. Having access to courses really doesn't count for anything unless and until you complete them and put that learning into practice.

        We've recommended this here many times, but if you're willing to apply yourself to a proven way of making at least some money in not a lot of time (although it will require some effort) you could do worse than read through this thread:

    1. Etsy is for products you create (or, at least, modify), so 1 will not work.


    2. If you go this route, why only Etsy? Ebay and Amazon can work too, and better?

    Ideas are a dime a dozen. How do you implement? What are your skills? How do you find products that sell well on amazon.com and how are you going to get sales? There are many listings on amazon, etsy, etc that never sell.


    Kay mentioned this idea: you're going at it from the wrong end. Start with where you are: skills, funds, etc.



    Imagine this:
    You find yourself far from home and you're hungry. You have no idea how much money you have on you or on your credit cards, you don't even know if you have them with you.


    What do you do?


    Do you go to the first restaurant that catches your eye and order or do you go through your pockets/purse and check to see what you can afford, then look at the first restaurant that catches your eye and see if their prices meet your affordability test?


    Picking a business is kind of like that.


    First business I started was real estate appraising. Because all it took was a computer, a phone (land line, this was before mobile phones), a fax machine, a ream of paper, 20 hours of education to get a license, $100 for the license and the ability to have clients. And I thought real estate appraising interesting. And I had the skills.


    So, what do you already know to do?
    What kind of resources do you have (enough in relation to the business type that attracts you)?


    Because, again, good ideas are a dime a dozen. This forum is full of people who had great ideas who did not make a thousand dollars in 10 years.

    Hi Jeff,


    I think you could make a lot of money from any of them, if you can put the time and effort in.


    This one could be especially good:

    As you would have a definate income from it on the upside - on the downside there would be pressure on you to deliver, but still a very good option that you may be able to start fairly soon.


    You could also manage a brand or Influencer's Social Media Account(s)



    In order to make the most of one's influence and following, creators should start posting on every social media app possible, so that they can optimize their reach. This is especially important when an influencer may want to create merchandise or go on tour.

    Managing every social media post and creating all of that content can take up a lot of time and energy. That's where you come in. As a social media manager, you help influencers create exciting and engaging content for all of their social media pages.

    You can help with profile changes, managing what content should go out and when it should be posted, designing fun Instagram stories, and just assisting your client with any social media needs.

    You could start off selling on Amazon Kindle creating books that you sell. Instead of Etsy you should consider selling on Ebay, Mercari, and Facebook marketplace - if you're okay with the idea of shipping products out and going to the post office.

      As a self published fiction writer, "creating books" is harder than it sounds. And I love doing it, hace also published short story fiction that way and yet it still takes me a long time!

      So if OP loves the idea of creating fiction or nonfiction ebooks he could learn how to create high quality nonfiction from Derek Doepker, or even Tim Denning (Who if memory serves right also has some training on it). I myself love fiction better and actually know how to do it, so if OP already has some experience, it can still be somewhat time consuming in my experience.


      And the best training I've seen offered in a thorough webinar so far (though can't vouch completely for it as I didn't buy the training or do it but would love to if my schedule opens up and it's still available), is making Audible non fiction specific-niche books, from the Mikkelson twins.

    Hi Troy,


    yes thats a good point about audible books. There is some good software around that makes the process easier than it use to be and people are often more willing to listen to books read to them than have to put in the effort to actually read them!
